Why were they allowed to wear Red, when Saints weren't allowed to wear white up at the Valley?

That is the biggest drawback of this kit that like last night, was a bit odd singing "Come on you Reds" when it was the opposition in all red.

Is it a fact we were not allowed to wear white up at the valley? Or did we just go and play in our normal away Kit.
Incidentally is it the referee's decision as to whether a team can do this or the club. It used to be the referee's decision to decide but maybe not in this day and age. Just a thought it is the leagues decision isn't it? Can't remember why, something maybe will come into my head later, what makes me think that.

Just often seems that Saints end up in a mish-mash of away kits when we have the smallest colour clash and I can't recall that happening the other way round with clubs.

Never liked the black kit anyway. Hopefully we will go back to Yellow next season.
