If we ever needed 3 points it's now. Lee Bowyer has to put things right somehow. If he can't you have to look at the recruitment. A lot of fans are saying that with the players we've got we should be doing better, but what is that based on? Maybe the squad is not as good as we think. A series of clean sheets early on disguised the lack of creativity and firepower. Two new additions will help, but how much?
Our position just outside the top 6 is something of a false on as well now. The three teams above us (6th, 5th & 4th) have two or three games in hand over us. And Ipswich (immediately below us only on goal difference) also have two games in hand. 8th place is where we ought to be, and probably 5 or 6 points adrift of 6th place. Unless we win against Rochdale we will be cut adrift from the play-off places.
I have already paid for this one so I will be watching it. There has got to be a positive reaction after Friday night. Otherwise the pressure on Bowyer will start to crank up.
I’ll probably watch it but just praying for a good performance , I don’t think I could take another ****e game
I'll be watching it,it's a very important game for us. The players we have available may not be good enough to have the sort of reaction we'd like to see. I want to see more movement from the midfield, whoever is playing. I don't know why we're so defensive-minded and slow. It can't be Bowyer's instructions to tell the players to stick to their markers when we have the ball, they seem to be afraid of making mistakes, and if tonight sees us continue in the same vein you will start to wonder about the relationship between players and manager. How can it help that he's publicly praising some while slating others? On Saturday he was still talking about the tackle that Williams jumped ahrt of, while saying that if Watson and Pratley had been playing things would have been different. You really have to be there to tell if the players have stopped playing for the manager, so without jumping to conclusions either way, all I'm hoping for tonight is 3 points. A good performance of attacking football is not on the cards.
More attacking team than last week which is a small positive. Not sure I've ever seen Aneke play well when starting though
