I see we are missing a thread for this aftermoons game so as I'm back for this one I'll kick it off. Robbo has apparently said we'll be putting out a strong squad today which I think is wise, and also shows some respect to Truro, who will be dreaming of glory today.
A ccording to Radio Times there's just Final Score on BBC1, no live match. I expect Joe Dodoo to continue his run of scoring in every one of his last one games, and give us a narrow 1-0 win. Wo-oh Super Joe Wo-oh Super Joe Wo-oh SuperJoe Soper Joey Dodoo.
I'm going for an 8-0 home win, and no respect shown to Truro whatsoever (on the pitch). My only worry is injuries we might pick up during the game.
I’m going for 3-0. Ken - you must really love the cup to commute for this game Hope the Truro fans have a good day. I’m sure they’ll embrace coming to a premiership quality stadium.
I'm having a drink with 3 Truro fans pre-match in the Rose ofDenmark. They'll definitely be having a good weekend.
Clinical finish by Reeves, but otherwise pretty soporific. The perceived wisdom in Cornwall is that Charlton fans forced Curbishley out. That's the bloody media for you.
I liked Truro's no.29 Harvey. Deserved His goal, much better than Dodoo, whose contribution wAs literally zero
The game was much as you expected it to be. It reinforced the need for another centre forward as Harvey was twice the player Dodoo is. Reeves showed that he knows where the back of the net is. Great credit to Truro who gave it absolutely everything. They even hit the bar. We had a number of breakaways but finished poorly. Konsa was kicked a number of times and lost his rag after another kick and raised his hands to the player. Luckily he only got a booking. We had nothing to win and we now move on.
In the 6th tier you don't have squad numbers apart from in the fa cup. The fact that he wears number 29 when the rest are 1-11 says a lot about him...
I must say credit to Truro City, I thought we would just roll over them with a cricket score playing most of our strongest team. 7pm on Monday, BBC2 - it's the Second Round draw. I hope we can make it through to the 3rd Round in January. 3rd Round day is always a highlight of the football calendar, and even more so now we can't take it for granted that Charlton will be involved.
