Out of interest Vol-au-vent, do really think Powell is responsable for this mess. He has'nt had much backing from the top, and when you play the game of move out anyone who costs a bit and bring in cheap replacements, you run the risk of days (and seasons) like this. It makes me want to scream, but I can't see a quick-fix solution.
Gower is on a yellow. I would take him off before he gives the referee a chance to even things up. We will now be attacking the swimming pool end so I would put Pigott on for his physical strength and play Kermit deeper.
I think it is just one of those matches. I don't think we are any worse than in previous games. We have had more shots, more shots on target, and more corners than Doncaster, and that is better than in our previous games. Chances are without freak conditions in the goalmouth it could be 1 - 1. I am not saying we are not a poor side, but no worse than we were a week ago. What changes can we make? We all wanted Cousins to start. Most posters wanted Harriott to start. Many of us would like to see Pigott given more time but Church has been our one bonus point this season. Leaving Kermit out would be a big gamble. Hard to see what CP can do without any money except gently change a couple of players and hope to stumble on a winning recipe.
@ Ken Conditions the same for both sides first half. I hope Powell won't use them as an excuse, as there us clearly something very, very wrong with this side. Worrying to see the likes of Hamer and Morro pointing fingers today. Wiggins needs a spell out of the side. Felt for the Donny fans today.
can't agree based on the first 30 min today. Even allowing for the conditions, the players are no longer even doing the basics. Did you see Wiggins on their first goal? We would have lost badly today had it continued.
Damn straight LG...!! The gaffer must've trodden in a huge dollop of excrement on his way to work this morning. The weather is no excuse. Both teams had to play on the same pitch for goodness sake...!! 3 down inside 30 mins, at home is an absolute joke...!!
Conditions werent completely the same as the ball was stopping in our penalty area when it was doing that in theirs... And was a better performance than against Middlesbrough... the first goal was poor because the defence forgot you cant be offside from a throw-in The other two goals were a result of the ball not rolling and by the time it was 3-0 it should have been 2-2 bar a great save from Turnbull against Pritchard and another save from Harriott when he should have passed to Church. The game today was all about who was gonna adapt to the extremely poor weather first and unfortunately that was Doncaster (because of the poor first goal). Cousins looked very comfortable which is a massive plus (in what had to be the hardest debut possible) and Church technically has 4 goals in 3 matches which is a return like what we got from BWP in League One. As I heard someone else say when I was walking away... We just need to work out where the defense has gone. In regards to the Kermorgant red card it was due to a hand in the face (first yellow) and was visibly pulled back by his shorts when he turned the same guy a couple of mins later
