Visiting Rovers ground last season was one of those that you chalk off just the once, what with it being in Bristol’s version of Hackney <yikes> the non English cab driver taking me to Bristol City’s ground first didn’t help either <whistle>

We should win tomorrow. Rovers are in the relegation zone, and their always sizeable away support are said to be on the manager’s back.

I cannot say that I am looking forward to seeing the KAG/Ajose partnership up front :emoticon-0145-shake

Another three points keeps us around the top places. Anyone got a report?

It was a very ordinary display from Charlton against a poor Bristol Rovers. Jamie Ward took the first goal well when Steer booted the ball over the top for Ward to lob the keeper. The second goal came just before half time when the ball was played to Aribo in the six yard box and he nodded it home. Grant scored the third right on full time when their keeper went up for a corner and the ball was played out to Grant who ran half the length of the pitch and slotted it home.

    Steer,
    Dijksteel, Baeur, Pearce, Solly
    Bielik,
    Lapslie, Aribo
    Ward
    Ajose, Grant

Subs Phillips, Sarr, Marshall, Morgan, Fosu, Hackett- Fairchild, Stevenson.

Very average performance, Ajose could not control a football for toffee , we dropped deep and luckily Rovers were so poor they couldn’t do anything with the space .
Need to be a lot better for the tougher games coming up.
3 points was what was needed though so decent day

Lyle would have had a field day against this defense, but hey-ho we got 3 points. We really have to get out of L1, games like this are fine when you win them, but horrible when you don't. 2 moments of quality in the first half, Ward's goal and Rovers'goal. Oh, and Steer's save. I'd guess real attendance 9,000 official attendance 11,000.

we looked blunt upfront. reeco hackett fairchild should have probably started. never knew he was such a unit. but it's what we needed - ajose and grant are too similar and need a big man to play off. we used the same tactics as if taylor was playing but knowing that grantt and ajose couldnt hold the ball up. we looked really uncomfortable all game and 3-1 flattered us.
