Thank God the international break is over ...and I’m not even Scottish.

No news coming out of the club on any new injuries...most importantly to our pink haired talisman from Montserrat.

It will be good to see Bielik back in the centre of defence on Saturday ahead of the hopeless Sarr, who may well switch to full back <yikes> to replace Anfernee Djiksteel.

Saturday is a must win game IMO -a sizeable gap has already opened up between us and the top sides, which is unacceptable, and defeat on Saturday will see us firmly wedged in mid table.

    Anyone getting a programme ?

From the point of view of having the right mentality for this game, Charlton's slide down the table last weekend could work in our favour.

In a diluted sort of way Bowyer's team is facing a similar situation to the one they faced when trying to finish in a top 6 place last season. After a draw, two defeats and a missed fixture there are no laurels to rest on now. Apart from the Checkatrade sideshow there is no momentum either. There should be no attitude that it 'doesn't matter too much' if we lose to Barnsley.

The team has a job to do and there are no justifiable cop-outs. Only a win will put us back on the right course.
Knowing this could well help them to approach this game in a hungry and determined frame of mind.

Having said that, I would not be entirely surprised if we pull off a great fighting win against Barnsley on Saturday, then fail to beat Gobbo's dreadful Oxford United on Tuesday evening...

Its a great shame the Oxford game is midweek - Robinson's return to the Valley deserves a wider audience than the 4,000 Charlton fans who will be there.

My motivation for midweek home games after work is precisely "zero" these days.

I don't think there is any circumstance where a home defeat in the league would be aceptable really. We certainly need to get out of our rut right now - the checkatrade win is irrelevant. Hopefully our latest injury crisis Will begin to abate and we can see a slightly better defensive preformance.

As far as Oxford goes, anyone going to boo or applaud Robbo when he comes back as their 'wow' manager? I'd give him a polite round of applause - he wasn't a good manager but he tried hard enough, and you can't really ask anyone to give more than their best. The interviews were frightfull ('the fans have got their Charlton back':emoticon-0127-lipss), as were his silly ideas of building bridges between the fans and the owner, but at the end of the day, he was just another poor Charlton mnager - we could probably develop an academy showing how to become that!!<doh>

Or "I've given the fans back their club".

The fans will probably take pity on him, and resist the temptation to kick a man when he's down. Or possibly not.

Difficult game on Saturday. Looking at how Barnsley played against Luton, I can see nothing but a Barnsley win.

No I am still going to Welling. I am enjoying it. I am falling out of love with all things Charlton including Charlton football forums. That is why I have not posted much on here or ITTV.

I'm giving Roland £17 already, that's quite enough. Might buy VOTV.
