Not sure if this has ever been thrown out there before but was thinking, seeing as how this forum is full of passionate fans, we could maybe set up our own player of the year awards and maybe sponsor a players shirt? If people would be up for it we could chip in and have a trophy made for a player chosen by us at the end of each season, and maybe see if we could get the moderators to personally hand it over to the player at some point? Would have been perfect for the season just gone as i am sure most of you feel that although Solly was a worthy winner, Yann the Man deserved to have won it as well. Sorry if this has already been thought up before but if not, i think it is a quality idea
We have discussed player sponsorship in the past - and a few were interested but not enough to cover costs. With sponsorship you get things like a seat at the table of your chosen player at the end of season diner, signed shirt etc etc. So for everyone who contributed, the prizes would be selected at random to make it fair. If enough interest is shown I will look to revive it and try again.
