    TEAM NEWS
Lawrie Wilson joined an already-lengthy injury list with a thigh injury at the weekend and will not play for Charlton.

Strikers Ricardo Fuller and Yann Kermorgant remain out and reserve forward Michael Smith has been loaned to Newport for a month.

Cardiff will take to the pitch without injured trio Jordon Mutch, Craig Bellamy and Tommy Smith.

Malky Mackay's men have an indifferent away record this season, but they still top the division on goal difference.

    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head

    • Three goals featured in the last 11 minutes of this corresponding fixture in April, which ended 2-2.

    • Charlton have avoided defeat in 16 of their last 18 home league games against Cardiff since 1963, the Bluebirds prevailing in March 1985 and August 1976.

    • Cardiff need to score three times to take their total of goals in competitive matches against the Addicks to 100.

    Charlton Athletic

    • Charlton lie one place and two points above the relegation zone and are without a win in four, as well as being on a run of three consecutive defeats at the Valley.

    • They have not lost four on the spin in front of their home supporters since the start of the 2002-03 Premier League campaign.

    • Chris Powell's side have not managed more than two goals in a league game this term, and are the joint lowest home scorers in the Championship, alongside Birmingham, with five goals from seven outings.

    Cardiff City

    • Cardiff retained top spot despite Saturday's odd goal in three defeat at Bolton, when they lost from a winning position for the second time this season.

    • While the Bluebirds have a 100% home league record, they are only averaging a point a game on their travels, after seven outings in both instances.

    • Malky Mackay's side have seen an opposing player sent off in an unrivalled four of their 14 Championship matches.

The fall out continues after the Bolton debacle. N' Gog is banned tonight at home to rivals Leicester City.

hmm, a few points to make here:

    1. We didnt play Charlton in April due to the minor fact they we weren't in the same league <doh>
    2. We didn't draw 2-2 with anyone in April <doh>
    3. CHARLTON WEREN'T EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE IN APRIL<doh>

How the fk does the BBC Sports dept continue to get away with such ****e, lazy, copy-paste "reporting"?

I noticed that, I remember the game distinctly, about three to four years ago. We were going for promotion late in the season, and went 2-0 down against struggling Charlton, scored a couple of late goals. We went on a typical Dave Jones dismal run, couldn't beat anyone!

Tuesday night...omen, it was the season Preston beat us to sixth place, after losing 0-1 at Sheffield Wednesday, ohhhh memories! 3008/9.

He got hounded out a few times but no worse than others, I thought Whitts had a bad one too. Frei will bring in something different IMO.

Malky doesn't think he's ready for English football. I'm certainly no expert in when to play young foreign players so I'm happy to wait for Etein.
