Our must win game in hand v the teams above us. Win tomorrow night & we go above Barnsley, and into the top 6. Rovers have lost 3 of their last 5, so the perfect time to play them.
On current form we must fancy our chances against most teams, these are one of them. Elfsborg are at totteringham on Thursday night. We have sold all 3,000 tickets and a few of my mates are going tomorrow night.
There's a full League One programme tomorrow evening. Barnsley are likely to lose, they are away at Wycombe. Stockport are at home to Shrewsbury. Leyton Orient (7th) are away at Exeter but are in very good form. Reading (8th) away at Burton. Bolton (9th) home to Cobblers. We'll do well to finish the evening in the top 6.
Aside from Barnsley, we have the harder game so could be further behind. Whilst it cannot be argued our current run has improved our prospects, we are still relying on other teams to falter.
Since NJ came in the great majority of our games are either draws or have a single goal difference. I expect This game to be different, with a convincing win for us. There probably won't be any team changes, but there will have to be soon. Leaburn doesn't look ready for 2 games a week, Ramsay was our best player before injury, and his return has coincided with Mitchell's drop in form.
The Addicks return to The Valley on Tuesday night, hosting Bristol Rovers under the lights (KO 7.45pm GMT). Nathan Jones’ side come into the clash having recorded back-to-back victories in Sky Bet League One, with Thierry Small netting a 96th-minute winner against Shrewsbury Town last time out. TEAM NEWS Kayne Ramsay returned to action on Saturday following a three-month spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, featuring as a late substitute in the Addicks' triumph over the Shrews. Striker Gassan Ahadme has missed Charlton's last three matches with a foot injury. THE OPPOSITION Bristol Rovers currently sit 18th in the Sky Bet League One standings ahead of the midweek meeting. Iñigo Calderón's side will look to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic last weekend. That was preceded by a 3-1 win at home to Barnsley courtesy of goals from Gatlin O'Donkor, Isaac Hutchinson and Ruel Sotiriou. HEAD-TO-HEAD Charlton and Bristol Rovers have gone toe-to-toe on 71 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning 25, the Pirates 27 and the remaining 19 encounters resulting in draws. Bristol Rovers ran out 3-2 victors at the Memorial Stadium in the reverse fixture in October 2024. MATCH OFFICIALS Farai Hallam oversees proceedings on Tuesday night. Hallam will be assisted by Jonathon Block and Alex Bradley, while Craig Hicks is the Fourth Official. OTHER INFO Fans are advised that the below roads around the ground will be closed from 7pm until just after kick-off on Tuesday: Floyd Road Harvey Gardens Valley Grove
I'd not be surprised that we are trying to offload Ahadme and are not playing him to avoid injury. I am guessing that a club may be wanting to offload before taking the carthorse on.
Ahadme has a "foot injury" according to the OS. The 2 changes are the right ones, as I said in an earlier post. I'll miss the first 15 minutes as I left my s/t at home and had to go back for it.
