I believe Charlie Mulgrew has been named in the squad for the upcoming Scotland friendly which, presumably, is seen as an honour for him. Just wondering how other Celtic fans view this, given the possibility of him picking up an injury?

He's in the squad. No guarantee he'll get on. Plus it's only a friendly.

Okay.... but just for the sake of discussion, lets say he plays - the question still stands. How do you feel about that and the possibility of injury (I suppose it's the old question of Club v Country and which, to you, is more important}?

I have no problem with him playing for Scotland.

Happy to see him get called up, and hopefully gets a game too. International call-ups are always good for a player, experience and confidence wise, barring the rare incidents like John Kennedy's injury.

    It's long overdue <applause>

I always want my indigenous club players to play for Scotland - it's, by and large, good for them and their development.

John Kennedy was a sickening exception.

Besides, I go along to support the national team when I can and I want the best Scottish players playing for Scotland and, just now, Chuck is one of the very best <ok>

I think you've made a good point about it being good for a player's experience and confidence (even apart from loyalties or otherwise to the National side). He's been fantastic -completely rejuvenated - on his return to Celtic with his excellent defending, distribution and that devastatingly accurate left foot.....and all on a free as well!

Is that only Forster and Hooper in our team / even yesterday's bench that don't have full caps ??? Both English no chance while playing in Scotland
