That is great news. 7 games and nearly two months to get himself match fit before scoring a brace to win the final at Wembley! It will not be an easy game tomorrow so 10 to 15 mins at the end I would imagine for Charlie.
Yes caution is the watchword here surely. Don't rush him back too soon only for his injury to break down again. In the bigger picture we will need him and Morrison on full form as we hit the end of the season / play-offs A small cameo at the end to get him back into things.
The timing is perfect. I can't wait to see how he gels with Ravel. I am sure it will be a big lift for the rest of the team as well.
He'd better score within 5 mins of coming on or some of our muppet fans will be saying he's a rednapp failure! I just hope he and the club aren't panicking and rushing him back. Would rather he takes his time and wrap him up I'm cotton wool for the play-offs.
From QPR Official "" R's talisman Charlie Austin is in line to return to the QPR squad for Saturday's clash against Bournemouth ... R'S TOP-SCORER Charlie Austin is in line to return to the QPR squad for Saturday's trip to AFC Bournemouth. Harry Redknapp has confirmed 24 year-old striker, who has been sidelined since late January with a shoulder injury, will travel with the squad to the Goldsands and 'could play some part' against Eddie Howe's in-form side. Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Redknapp said: "Charlie is a great pro and a great lad. "He loves every minute of being a professional footballer and he's been sorely missed in the time he's been out. "He's so important for us. Not just his goals, but his all-round contribution. “He trained this week and will travel with us. There’s every chance he will play. “We don’t want to push him too quickly, so we’ll see how he feels. He’s worked all of this week and most of last week. It’s a big boost for us as he was great before the injury. "He's come back double quick because of the type of lad he is." Jermaine Jenas is also back in the Rangers squad for the clash against the Cherries, but Nedum Onuoha and Aaron Hughes are out, while Armand Traore remains a doubt. Yossi Benayoun returns from a one match ban. "Aaron is out with a hamstring and Nedum has a calf strain," added Redknapp, "they'll both be out this weekend. "JJ is fit and will be in the squad tomorrow – he's trained all week and we're pleased to have him back." Saturday's trip to the Goldsands will be Redknapp's first in a managerial capacity since he left the Cherries in 1992. And he is relishing the journey, albeit at a time when Howe's charges are enjoying their finest form of the campaign to date. "I'm looking forward to going back there as manager. I go along a lot, but this will be different to normal," he said. "I had great times there - and now Eddie has brought the good times back. "He has done an amazing job. It's a good football club, with a great infrastructure. They're doing ever so well." Great news. I've not been this fond of a player since Rowly many years ago. (You gotta love Hilly but he's a defender so he don't count ) I just love the lad's attitude. So unlike a lot of modern footballers.
Save him for the last 15 if we aren't winning. Keep him on the bench if we are a couple (lol) of goals up.
That's because he did it the hard way, not through academies, and knows better how much to appreciate what he's got. He did work as a brick layer a few years back, as hard as it is to to believe
I think every manager should take their players to do a normal job in each pre season just to see how lucky they are. I'd love to see the likes of BAE have to get up at 5am for a 12 hour shift.
Mr Speaker, Mr Speaker ................ Your Honour, would you allow me to concur with comments from the right honourable member from WBA2_QPR3 May I also move that on matchday, the sitting member to take full opportunity to indulge in whatever alcoholic refreshments the house has to offer .................. those in favour say, aye! The aye's have it!
Really don't want him rushed back. Would rather he didn't play at all tomorrow and got another weeks training under his belt
