He went off injured at Bournemouth, last night. Perhaps we got a good deal, after all?

Seems we did well managing him so he was fit enough to sell.
A "few weeks" sounds like there is not much playing time left him in this season

Why is this called 'Charlie Austin's knee' when he pulled his hamstring?

From the match report on Sky:
"The former QPR man, who signed in the January window for £4m, was replaced by Graziano Pelle on 59 minutes after suffering a knee injury. "

I really wish him good health and every success. He deserves it!

But perhaps we got the best of him?

£12 million last August would have been sweeter - that would have been the Moneyball approach, and unlike some of our other luxury high earners (Fer, Sandro, Phillips, Green), other clubs actually wanted him.

Koeman said the Saints Doctor reported a hamstring injury. Again.

strange selecting Charlie and then playing him wide. Poor display from the Saints. I wonder, have they peaked?

No disrespect to Charlie, £4mill + add ons might be good value if he is continuing to be a sick note player.

Wish him well, nothing but praise for him as a hoop he was excellent for us. Hope he a long career in the Premier league.
Southampton were absolute crap last night, Austin and Long up front together didn't work at all.

Newcastle offered 12 but insisted on instalments and we wanted it in lump sum. That was only stumbling block, personal terms were agreed and Charlie had number 9 shirt.

That was just newspaper rubbish, wasn't it? Leicester were the only club to bid I thought.

because someone up the pub said that he wanted a wall built and when he got austin bricks on the job charlie turned up with his labourer and put half the wall up
and he said and i quote
MY KNEE IS A BIT DICKY AT THE MOMENT
so hope that clears that up
