For the sake of a couple of grand a week in wages he's scoring goals for fun at Burnley instead of partnering Chops <doh>

Maybe it's time for PJ to bite the bullet and pay the odd million more than he thinks a player is worth or an extra £5k a week out of our pay structure.

I applaud him for sticking to his guns and getting what he has with those principles but if those principles stand in the way of getting the players needed the consequences far out weight the potential saving we would make.

Uncanny similarities between us and Arsenal. Wenger has said he doesn't feel there is any good value to be had in the transfer market and refuses to pay over the odds for average players. Fact is he and Jewell may have to, otherwise Arsenal and Ipswich will be left behind in the respective leagues.

Totally agree, clubs know we have money and will try to get top dollar for their players, rightly so! Sadly we just have to bite the bullet and pay top price, if we don't then we won't be signing anyone of note!

I was gutted when we failed to land Austin and i think it was a big mistake!!

Morning guys, sorry for intruding on the post mortem. Just wondered if you think that's really down to Jewell, or is it Clegg?
Reason I ask is that a lot of our problems seemed to come in one way or another through our former chief exec Neil Doncaster. Now don't get me wrong, we had some rotten managers and dreadful players in that time, but ultimately Doncaster sanctioned them all.

Clegg can't be blamed for the lack of signings this season as Jewell has taken responsibility for negotiations. Last season was a different matter, he was hopeless and is partly to blame for the mess we are in.

Ipswich need to crack on and sign the following free transfers, and play the below formation effectively, get organised and get a defensive coach. (appreciate it isnt that easy but hey!)

    Free Signings:

Big gay Sol / Anthony Gardner / Jonathan Fortune / Kisanishvilli / Sonko
    Parnaby / Ifil / Zuiverloon.

    Stockdale

    Creswell
    Zuiverloon
    Kisanishvilli
    Sonko

    Martin
    Carson
    Andrews
    Bowyer

    Chopra
    JET

Subs: Lee Barrat, Deleany, Kennedy, Drury? Scotland/Priskin

Cheers svendust, didn't know Jewell was doing negotiations. I'm surprised he took that on with extra workload it would bring.

He sells pies at half time and washes the kit too!

Although he saves time by wearing clothes from the 90's

But would he be scoring loads for us?
At present we cant KEEP the ball so its a bit harsh saying we need someone who can bang them in.
Chopra looks very impressive in front of goal so far but he aint ever gona score with our midfield (cough leadbitter cough) passing to the opposition rather than a team mate.
