Charlie Austin Q&A: Striker not thinking of leaving QPR, mocks Taarabt The Queens Park Rangers striker says he is 'really happy' at Loftus Road - and also took the opportunity to light-heartedly make fun of his team-mate. View image | gettyimages.com Charlie Austin is fast becoming one of the most charming strikers in the Premier League. The QPR forward took to social media on Thursday night to do a Q & A with fans, where he revealed everything from the best defender he's faced to the best wrestler within the R's squad. And, when asked if he is thinking of leaving the west London side, Austin wrote on Sportlobster: "No. I'm really happy at the moment. "Things are going so well at QPR and they've given me an opportunity to play in the Premier League which I've always dreamed of. I've got a contract, I'm happy, and the most important thing is that we stick together and climb the table as quick as possible (with the help of fans like you!!)" Meanwhile, asked who he would most want to be stuck on a desert island with, Austin joked: "The worst would be Adel Taarabt, he would probably just end up sulking and wouldn't be much fun! Only joking pal!" And the 25-year-old striker was also asked by fans about his favourite QPR goal, replying: "Wigan play-off semi-final, extra-time winner. Doesn't get much better!"
Cue pictures of Adel Taarabt in the Daily Mail next week grinning inanely on a desert island to refute this scandalous claim
"Striker not thinking of leaving QPR, mocks Taarabt" When I first read this headline I thought that Adel was mocking Charlie for not leaving. Of course, leaving QPR is very difficult if you are a top player ... as Adel will testify.
Charlie's a top professional and very down to earth. Delighted to read his positive comments and recognise how he has seized the opportunity afforded to him. Others in the squad should take note. I still remember the look on his face when he went off against Bolton last season with that crippling shoulder injury. We need ten more Charlie Austin's in my team.
I think we were all dreading that game. Thinking back to 2012 when that Maloney goal pretty much sealed our fate. TF said in an interview that Wigan were the team he was dreading getting in the semi-finals and with good cause. It was a very well taken goal and let's not forget who provided the assist for Charlie - "Oh Bobby Zamora"!!
Yes indeed, what a striker, goal scorer, and play maker, £35 million minimum (Andy Carroll style), after that hat-trick today!
You didn't disappoint Hit 82 points this week, am up to 251st in the WORLD in FPL (if that means anything to anybody!) Anyway, glad to see Charlie doing well, obviously wish we had him! He seems a pretty decent bloke too! Hope he gets a well-deserved England callup soon
