Charlie Austin was last night fined one weeks wages after scoring a long range goal. QPR manager Harry Redknapp had laid down his rules that QPR must only score goals by running the ball into the net and that no open field goals should be scored. Austin was reportedly spanked in front of the whole team, driving him to tears, which has left the team terrified of scoring goals from outfield play, which has led to a reluctance to cross the ball in case someone accidentally taps it in. Austin said "I don't know what I was thinking. I found myself with the ball outside the box and I just launched it. I totally forgot what I was doing and instinct kicked in. I'll not make that mistake again!" It is yet to be seen whether or not Redknapp will drop him from the team for the next fixture.
He also shot at over the maximum speed allowed, 25mph is the hardest we are allowed to shoot, even from 30 yards.
