As ever it appears Adam cant tackle a mars bar without making a mess of it. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/7947251/AVB-fury-at-Adam-s-Bale-tackle It refers to them having some of history, anyone know of what it was ?
He got sent off against Spurs last season. His tackling is a liability. Though he is probably better than Scholes, who got by just fine.
I saw the tackle as probably did a lot of you. It certainly wasn't that bad and had no malicious intent. So AVB is crying about a player who sis injury prone - his problem not ours!
I have often referred to Charlie Adam as the poor mans Paul Scholes. They can both pass short, they can both pass long, they can both shoot from distance and neither can tackle for **** but Scholes does all but the latter much better
The fact Bale then got up and played the rest of the half clearly shows he wasn't that badly hurt. If so, being a pre-season friendly, he would have come off straight away as a precaution. Yeah, it wasn't a great tackle but no doubt Bale will heal and play some part in the next game. I used to like Bale, thought he was an excellent player, but his rolling around, feigning injury and constant diving is starting to grate a bit. Remember the one against Liverpool last year when I think it was Agger who had a proper go at him for his obvious dive.
Rep... Just how I feel. Same with Neymar (and Suarez... Hope Rodgers sorts that out quickly, tells him to stop diving or he sits.)
Lmao! According to spurs everyone should just watch them play and apreciate the privilege of playing against such legends of the game. Heaven forbid we should actually try and tackle one of there players, let alone the Demi god that is Bale.
Pretty much sums up what I felt when i read the article! Bale continued to play ffs.....probably did more damage than the original tackle....muppets! That said Adam cannot tackle for toffee and is (and was) a liability imo....
That's 3 times now Adam has done Bale. The first time when he was at Blackpool was the worst and Bale was out for 3 months. Then last year when we smashed u 4-0 at the Lane he did it again. And now in a pre season friendly when the ball was clearly gone he felt the need to wipe it out again. It might not be the worst challenge ever but considering its a pre season friendly it wasn't unnecessary. How can you blame Bale for being pissed off when the same player keeps targeting and injuring him.
I wouldn't agree with him being a better tackler than Scholes but Scholes certainly got a away with murder countless times in his career. It's always difficult to prove that they meant to badly hurt a player but at very minimum he was trying to crunch Bale to **** him up a bit. There was no attempt to pull out of the challenge even though his own player was already diving in and even if the ball had stayed where it was he'd have been going over it which is at best reckless, much like Saturday. Anyone that's ever played football knows how to take a player down cynically, like he was trying to, and you flick their moving leg into their standing leg but instead Adam stretches to stamp on Bale's standing leg before he moves it and leaves Adam in the dust. To do that in a normal game is bad but in a friendly is disgraceful. That said, I don't think Bale and Walker needed to stir it all up again with their comments this morning.
He didn't try to tackle him though, he was nowhere near the ball and was just trying to crunch him in a friendly game. If one of our players did that to Gerrard you'd be screaming bloody murder.
YV, I think you're trying to see far more in that tackle than actually existed. If you want disgraceful then look at the tackles that Basong was dishing-out in the 2nd half.
Can't remember the first incident with Adam and Bale, but his last one with Blackpool and this most recent one were not malicious at all. Badly timed? Yes. Vicious? No. Intent? I doubt it. Is it a coincidence that Bale was carrying an injury going into this game, and that the nippy Bale was once again caught by the lumbering Adam? Hardly. Agree that Walker, AVB and Bale should not be stirring - it's not even the start of the season ad the 'mind games' have started.
Bassong's crap but apart from the one he got booked for, which wasn't dangerous, he didn't do a lot wrong. He couldn't have done much wrong because Sterling was already miles away from him everytime the ball went down that flank. I'm just going to end up repeating myself if I talk about the Adam challenge again so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree but if you're honest I think you'd be very unhappy if Gerrard was on the receiving end of that from a Spurs player.
still a demented gimp I see. keep flying the crazy flag by all means though. your names not Alan is it?
