http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/8518992/ Go on Charles. I don't think you much chance of being successful but good luck anyway
I see his point & I wish him well in his quest. I´m hoping to go to Hull´s stadium in August while on holiday in Filey on the bus & sit in the away end. If the same rules apply there I won´t be allowed as a tourist to do this ? & even more important, IF LC ain´t playing at the KPS when I´m there or they are playing near to Filey, I´ll be going to an away game where ever it will be. I could also be stopped doing that aswell ??? There are quite a few people in the world that just turn up to a game on the day & think why not, Like me for i.e
Every proper football fan should be supporting this kid, what WYP are doing is a ****ing disgrace. This might be a bit of a stunt, but knowing his dad, he could drive this all the way and actually bring the action.
If he wins, they'll have one hell of a chant. We sued the police We sued the police [They] are Hull City We sued the police
Goes beyond football actually. Danger of a police state here. How long before they say you can't move between cities except on their approved transport? With official travel documents? Maybe have to wear specific markings to show your sporting, religious or political allegience? And if they don't approve????????? If I want to travel to Clacton to watch the Papua New Guinean Bowls team, as long as I'm not travelling for the purposes of committing a crime, what business is it of theirs? Guess I'm now on their list of anarchists.
I don't have a problem with the police having those powers available, because there are several clubs up and down the divisions bad enough to justify blanket sanctions (Cardiff, Millwall, Forest, Leeds, QPR and non-league L*t*n spring to mind). But it should be a combination of a fanbase as bad as that AND a match with added significance (on or off the pitch). Not one or the other, BOTH. As bad as this would be for Hull fans unsure about travel arrangements etc, I hope that WYP refuse to budge and the sanctions are overturned by a judge. The police backing down ASAP would be good for these Hull fans this time, but a legal ruling that police restrictions must be proportionate would be a victory for all fans going forward.
Good point, a judicial review might restore some faith. At the moment you have a major city in which a growing number of law abiding citizens don't trust the police.
I'm all for what the fella's doing... but legal represenation at 15? Clearly minted/a bit 'silver spoon'. Fair play to him for trying to bring about change though. Totally agree with him.
Thats what I thought. For a 15 year old to have legal representation clearly has a minted family. More then likely he is a little posh aswell
Thats make his small chance of success even slimer. I cant see him being able to get the police to budge and I doubt he will get legal support for to contest the police over a football match
Congrats Charles you have retained your soppy bollocks trophy http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/198328-Soppy-bollocks-winner-week-14?p=4334779#post4334779
Actions against the police and judicial review are 2 of the very few types of cases where you can get civil legal aid now. The fact that he's intending to pursue a claim against the police is not a ground for refusing legal aid. I commend the lad for what he's doing. Unfortunately there is no possibility of the case being heard before our match with Huddersfield. I don't know whether he would still pursue it to prevent the WYP (or other police forces) from imposing such restrictions in the future.
You have to be 18 for legal aid, and it doesnt cover this area of law. Come April, legal aid will be virtually non existant unless there is discrimination for gender race or disability
Actually, the Legal Aid thing was just make even more of a farce of the situation, by attempting to use government money, to sue a government controlled body, for doing something completely unnecessary. In reality, he's instructed London-based lawyer Lochlinn Parker, of Deighton Pierce Glynn, to bring the action. And you're right, he's not exactly on the poverty line, though quite what that has do with anything, I fail to see.
No its not but the Police havent done anything legally wrong. They have just reduced a ticket allocation for a football match and imposed strict guidlines. While I dont agree with it suing the police isnt going to get you anyway There is people out there needing legal aid alot more then a 15 year old kid trying to win some mates and get his name in the paper. I doubt you would sell the normal allocation there anyway with it being on Sky. OLM came here and said we would even sell 2K for our FA Cup game there and we sold out with 4K going up there.
His gran has applied as she will be his litigation friend. And you can get legal aid for actions against the police and judicial review (for now anyway)
Thats what im on about. Some people have lost their jobs unfairly, some Dads arent allowed to see their kids etc. They deserve legal aid alot more then a allocation of tickets to a football match
