Read this article article and couldn't decide whether or not this guy is a complete arse or not. His comments are almost child like and smack of "if I can't play no one can". It really did annoy me. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...arles-green-threatens-to-take-on-uefa-1530797
He knows that the Welsh clubs were grandfathered into the English FA. Although he may have a point about the womens league thing. Generally though he's just throwing **** at the wall to find out what sticks. Next he'll want Berwick Rangers thrown out of the Scottish league.
IF I was a Rangers fan this is exactly what I'd want to hear from my clubs Chief Executive.......probably not realistic, but certainly appears as though he's fighting for his clubs future.
If they are allowed to play in England why should they join as high as the conference. They are a newly formed business. They are not the original Glasgow Rangers.
I actually agree with what he is saying it's just the language he's used to express his point, mind you it could be the press who have made it sound almost child like. I have kept half an eye on the Rangers situation, as I have many friends who are Rangers fans, and it really does appear the knives are out for them.
Totally off topic, has anyone seen the video of the 8 year old Canadian kid at the bottom of the Rangers article. He would run rings around half the teams in the championship. His name is Charlie Bontis.
Either someone has promised him support or he is in ga ga land? Which club in the main English (and I use that word for want of a better description) League pyramid - down to say Conference North and South would voluntarily sacrifice themselves to let Rangers in? Even if a club goes out of business, for Rangers to come in would thwart the ambitions of another club within the pyramid who would have seen an extra promotion opportunity. Yes, they would bring huge travelling support and certainly spice things up but he should bear in mind that Cardiff and Swansea were invited to join in the 1920's when the league was looking to expand. That is not now the case. If they want to come south then offer them the Northern League (if the clubs there are happy to do so) and let them rise through the system and reach the higher levels on merit not because they have a history, big support and some "muscle".
Exactly right BfB. When AFC Wimbledon were formed didn't they join the pyramid at about the ninth level. Why should this newly formed club join any higher .
I tried to post a link to an article on this from WoL on the weekend, but it kept failing. I understand the motives and it is probably more to front of his mind now than when the 'Rangers and Celtic joining the English leagues' was bouncing about a few years back. I can imagine Wrexham and Newport (or any other team in the Conference) being mightily agrieved if they missed out on promotion for this reason. As for chucking Cardiff or Swansea out, again, just **** stirring. He's getting desperate and looking for a way to increase revenue quickly.
The muppett should be grateful that this new Rangers are where they are. Glasgow Rangers have gone. Ok let them in - at the lowest point of the English leagues - wherever that is. I hope this team doesnt display the old honours that the old Rangers won. Not the same club. Hope HT dont read this though.
To be honest, the only way forward for a number of the Scottish clubs is to abandon the Scottish fa and try to pitch in with our league system, i can see both Celtic and Rangers being let in within the next 5 years. The easiest entry for them would be the formation of a Premiership 1 and 2, the lower leagues will regionalise as they did after WWII which makes financial sense, however there would have to be promotion and relegation from all of these leagues. I am convinced this will happen and i think you will see us in Premiership 2 along with the usual suspects including the Sweaty Socks.
That would be just our luck wouldn't it. Finally get to the Premier League then find ourselves in premiership two just to accomodate the Jocks.
