hi guys My son is doing a bike ride from Leeds to Berlin to raise money for the charity Sense. I put this on my own board Sunderland then the Newcastle lads chipped in and added it as a sticky on their place , now Norwich have done the same. It would be nice if all of the permier league boards could do like wise. He is doing 600 miles in 8 days with 50 0ther riders aiming to get £20,000 in total for Sense the charity for the daf blind community 9Some times called refereees!) If you can give lats make this lad the official not 606 charity rider in the event please give at: http://www.justgiving.com/matthew-marshall
Thanks for your support here is an update after the first Three days. Another cold day for the lad got him almost across Holland yesterday and they had the pleasure of sleeping indoors last night. Most nights they are sleeping in tents in the sub zero temperatures, which are even colder than here! He is almost at £400 and the group at almost £19,000 raised so far. If anybody would like to put him over £400 that would be great. http://www.justgiving.com/matthew-marshall
Change of plan for the riders now due to the weather. The Students Union have chipped in to pay for hostle accomodation as with night time temperatures due to fall as low as minus 16, they were not (quite correctly) wilingto allow any body to put there lives at risk no matter how good the cause. This means that the route has changed and it might take seven days rather than eight as the stop overs are being booked on a day by day basis. Today it will now be 80 miles from Osnobrucke to Hanover.
