Sunderland AFC have been notified of a charge of misconduct by the Football Association following Sunday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at the Sports Direct Arena. Both Sunderland and Newcastle United have received the charge in relation to an alleged breach of FA Rule E20 (a) - 'failure to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour'. The charge relates an incident which saw both James McClean and Danny Simpson cautioned by referee Mike Dean in the 19th minute of the game. The club has until 4pm on Monday 12th March to respond.
Seems daft to me. Mclean ans Simpson had a clash, no fists and over in seconds, I'm sure both will have forgotten about it before bed time.
