Theres no ****ing "cartel conspiracy" or people trying to **** with Geordies, the Saudis got askes the exact same questions CITY were asked a few years ago. Is the Abu Dhabi group directly owned by the government in Abu Dhabi, does that government control the club. The answer was proven to be no, its completely private.

The PIF is not, its obviously owned directly by the Saudi state. They can't prove otherwise because that's just how it is.

There's not a conspiracy, people want to PL the explain themselves, not reverse the decision. It can't be reversed

I wanted it to go through, I was disappointed but it is what it is. Beelin and crying about the unfair league is just bullshit and embarrassing

 

The comparison with City isn’t quite right imo. The pretence that both aren’t in reality Govt controlled is for the birds. However, State ownership in itself is not the issue for the PL. Their issue with the Saudis was the piracy of their product and the fact they’d blocked them from legal recourse to get it stopped for 3 years.

Quite how the PL could be expected to sign off on the Saudis taking over one of the PL clubs, whilst they simultaneously continued to block the legal rights owner to the PL product in that region, from operating in their nation, is ****ing beyond me.

I was under the opinion from the BBC article that a major hang up was that issue of true ownership, who the chairman was and how it isn't directly state owned.

But honestly, its immaterial, my issue isn't why it won't pass, my issue is the subsequent meltdown. The nonsense of it being an anti-North East move, anti-Geordie, everyone going into battle.

Apparently a cartel controls the league and NOW thats bad. Everyone was happily gloating about joining the cartel a few weeks back.

You can't make all this up.

 

They wanted clarity on who in reality would be calling the shots given who the Chairman of the PIF is.

I agree with the rest, the idea it’s some sort of conspiracy is ridiculous. As is the idea that BeIN who pay the PL £500m a year and are being openly mugged off by the Saudis over their rights, should somehow be irrelevant to the PL’s thinking.

Our takeover deal fell through and we just accepted and got on with it. It’s not the done thing for businesses to come out and explain deals that didn’t happen.

The PL have already explained, a few days before the takeover fell through. They stated they’d asked questions on who would actually own the club and at that point the Saudis walked away from the table.

 

That’s ****ing embarrassing.

I see they’ve also been doing this to the other main PL sponsors.

Spamming their review page with fake 1 star reviews, as they’re crying their eyes out shouting about invented corruption. What do they think this will actually achieve? Do they think Bud will somehow jib off the PL because a handful of knobheads can’t handle the fact that the Saudis aren’t buying them MBappe? **** me.
