Got to thinking this morning about some of my favourite chants from City. I started going p/t aged 8 in 1993, full time in 1995/96 when we dropped into Div3 and I can still do (most) of the words to Common Dolan but I reckon the best ones from recent years were the ones that surfaced when the Kempton reopened (oh Alexander, lend me your sander!!). I can't claim to be a regular anymore, I live in Brum and I can't afford more than 4 or 5 home games a season but we haven't had any belters for a while - one came to me today however. Drawing on the Elvis theme how about "Suspicious Minds"? It might be a bit too subversive to get the west stand singing though. Any others?
The best one from that era was: **** off Terry D You took us to Division 3 You're a, **** football manager and so is Jeff Lee..eeeeeeee
OHHH Jamie Woooood, Yes he's very very gooooood, He does everything he shoould And he makes me pull my pud OHHH JAMIEEE WOOOOOD!!!
In Dublin's fair city Where the girls are so pretty I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone As she wheeled her wheelbarrow Through the streets broad and narrow Singing de-de-de-de-de, de-de-de-de CITY ! Tip toe through the Kempton With yer boots off Get yer 'eads kicked in So tip toe through the Kempton with me Waggy, Waggy, Waggy, Oi, Oi, Oi.
