In a boon to those who detest Steve Claridge's left wing bias, the BBC have competition from Channel 5 (purveyors of low quality programming for the masses) from next season, as C5 will be showing 90 minutes of FL (including Championship) highlights from 9.00pm on Saturdays. So you can watch that ptogramme, then MOTD, then the BBC late night version of the same thing. If you do spend your Saturday evenings this way, may I suggest online dating?
It's questionable how seriously the BBC have ever taken the football league what with their irksome Late Kick Off (which used to appear a few weeks before the season finished. It's only Manish and Rosenior that give the current coverage any semblance of credibility but I could imagine that C5 could draw some fans if they can find some time for highlights of midweek fixtures. I dread the quality of pundit they'll unearth though.
Surely the less reputable ones offer a bit more "promise" - maybe not long term, but you'll probably have a bit of fun
I'd watch with certain conditions: No Andy Townsend No Steve Claridge No Ian Darke No Robbie Savage No Michael Owen
I heard John Barnes on Irish Radio the other night. He's was over here doing a radio roadshow and he comes out with a classic, "the best BRITISH player I ever seen was, Liam Brady". The Presenter was just speechless.
At the expense of saying something that might offend, Ricardo, all i'll say is, Dublin is a million miles away from being British. We chose ourselves to be non - British. What Barnes said about Brady was incredibly naive on his part.
