Hello all, JMP signing in to the 'new' 606 site after several months of soul destroying apathy. Finally felt compelled to register because I saw the Channel 4 documentary on how to buy a football club last night - did anyone else see it - all about Bryan Robson and a Thai deal maker? Whilst we were never mentioned, I presume this is only because we may already have been snapped up under this template. They described a familiar model - people fronting the ownership and fund vehicles funded by fund of fund vehicles providing the money anonymously on a get to the Prem and flip the club for relatively quick and great profit model. It was screaming the current structure of Leeds (who were mentioned) and us. If I am honest, I feel concerned more because this documentary may lead to tighter regulation, which may in turn threaten our current ownership and funding (if indeed we do fall under such a model). I am not convinced it is such a bad model because this financial strategy can only be achieved by success on the pitch - where's the problem? A lot of supossition here I know but unless anyone (Calydon!!) knows any different I feel it is in all probability a situation that is relevant to us.
I thought that too - and lo and behold he mentioned Palarse! Can't work out why Oxford would be a good bet though.
I am completely and utterly terrified.... ...by the thought of Bryan Robson having anything to do with the running of our wonderful club.
