Just been sorting out my sons room and came across two old SAFC Official calendars for 2009 and 2005. Just to see how far we have come this is the line ups from then 2005 Jan Julio Arca Feb Mart Poom March Liam Lawrence April Steve Caldwell May Stephen Wright June Stephen Elliot July Dean Whitehead August Carl Robinson Sept Jeff Whitley Oct Marcus Stewart Nov Kevin Kyle Dec Gary Breen. 2009 Jan Dean whitehead Feb Djribril Cisse March El-Hadji Diouf April Teemu Tainio May Anton Fredinand June Craig Gordon July Steed Malbranque Aug Pascal Chimbonda Sept Andy Reid Oct Kenwyne Jones November Keran Richardson December George McCartney There was a big difference between 2005 and 2009 but how much better are we now tan in 2009. Also which players from 2005 or 2009 would you still have?
......@........ That wasn't me being ironic and trendy with that twitter bullchat everyone insists on shoving down your throat (morons, @ is ONE letter icon shorter than actually typing at... And it's the same amount of finger presses on your mobiles, because you have to press shift to get it... so stop showing society your groovy ways and send messages a ****ing human can understand with ease), it was tumbleweed. I'm afraid Titus seems to have downed this part of the forum like a helpless teenage girl... Oh well, seeing as it's a good post, I'll reply, even though being a Magpie fan I know nothing... In terms of being "better", I'll assume you're talking football-wise and not about the fact December and October of 2009 are stuck together... Your team, to my mind, has been turned into the epitome of averageness by Steve Bruce (lucky for you Martin O'Neill is a genius with average). Cisse and Jones, surely, despite there flaws, would be in your team now if it was the 2009 versions? A Sunderland squad bereft of striking options is an unsual sight (but one I've personally had no problem with), and I reckon Martin will do you right there soon. Looking over the other players in those years, however, I think only Julio for left-back would make it into your team right now?
