From the beginning of the season till 3 days before Christmas we played 16 Premier League games . Within that timeline we played 11 Cup related games of various types .At that point we qualified for the 2nd round of Europa and won 2 FA Cup games to qualify for the 5th round , including a historic win at Old Trafford against Man U. We were also on pace for almost a 50 point Premier League season. A pretty amazing accomplishment considering we were averaging a game every 5 days . So , what did we get for Christmas .Well from Dec 22 against Everton to Feb 1 against West Ham we played 10 games ,including 2 FA Cup games at an average of a game every 4 days .During this time frame , infested with injuries , we played 8 Premier League games against Everton , Chelsea , Villa , ManCity , Man United, Tottenham, Fulham , and West Ham .Monk recieved Laudrups team after the West Ham game with 7 days to rest his players for the Cardiff game, with injured players returning in droves . This is for those that like to spin the 36 points in 39 games connecting two seasons .Laudrup 's strategy up till Dec 22 , with a small squad , was nothing short of magnificent
Some of us can see it roofjack, others fail to even accept it, and bring irrelevant stats up such as form from last season, which has no bearing to this season in any way shape or form. You don't get any real sensible replies other than the likes of above, or that Laudrup has gone, get over it, because there is no sensible reply. the only thing they have to cling on to is yes, we lacked a bit of commitment, but the players were shattered, even some players have blamed themselves, yet they don't just leave it there, they use rumours to justify their claims as proof of why he should be sacked. You fighting a losing battle with some, they think because you back Laudrup to have stayed in the job, your totally against Monk, which for me is not the case, I am 100% behind Monk, just like I was 100% behind Laudrup, unlike some of the fair weathers here, who stabbed him in the back as quick as the board did at the first sign of trouble after a fistful of **** games. So all I can suggest is not to bother, they will never listen, there are a few of us here who can see what ML was doing, and it was not relegation form, but they cannot see that, they look at the form guide in the most simplest of ways, but if thats all they can see, then there is nothing much me or you can do to make them see past the basics and see it for what it was, that we were no where near relegation form.
Why don't you debate what was written in my article , instead of skirting the issues with grammer lessons ,
36 points in 39 games - Fact! If you cannot see the improvement we have made in the past few games then so be it
See, back to including the end of last season, there is no other valid point bar the invalid points total of 2 seasons
Of course it does, we have been playing with little confidence, passion, desire etc since we won the COC, and our performances in the league has been dire, something which Laudrup hasn't been able to alter, something which Monk did in his first week in charge.
Oh wait, didn't you know that Laudrup in his last 2 games in charge, had 1 win and 1 loss, thats 3 points in 2 games, thats far from relegation form Thats on average 57 points in a season, bring back Laudrup courtesy of irrelevant points averages.
It's a downward trend, if we were to ignore the first six months of Laudrup's tenure, then we have been really poor.
It wasn't an article, it was a post. It's badly formatted and painful to read so I won't bother. This website is too wide as it is making multiple lines difficult to read even without breaks.
See , thats how you negative guys think valley . We got 40 points with 10 games remaining last season after the League Cup win .But all you guys want to focus on is the last 10 games of last season , pitiful really
Like Newcastle last season, Liverpool the season before, Fulham too, do you see a pattern here. Clubs struggle with Europe, let alone with the injury crisis we had added to the run of games we had, as has been shown to you, the run of games was awful. How many points do you think we SHOULD have taken from Man City (a) Newcastle (h) Hull City (h) Norwich City (a) Everton (h) Chelsea (a) Aston Villa (a) Man City (h) Man Utd (a) Tottenham (h) Fulham (h) West Ham (a) Am curious.
No, i'm looking at the last 10 games of last season, and our performances this season, could argue it's rather pittyful for someone to hang on to performances of more than 12 months ago
