I take the Sports/Cinema package for £36 pm (plus other charges, HD, multi room etc). Does anyone know whether I can reduce that down by opting out of some of the dedicated sports channels that Sky are bringing in ( I don't watch golf, so that would go) or are the options just for those that take Sports only and can therefore cherry pick between sports?

Any help gratefully received. I don't trust Sky customer care to give me the correct advice.

From what i understand you can Choose one channel for £18, two for £22, three for £26, or all the sports channels for £27.50

In case it affects anyone else, I've just found this in SKY's terms and conditions:

If you subscribed to both Sky Sports and Sky Cinema prior to 18 July 2017, any change to your Sky TV subscription or current sports package will result in a price increase on your Sky Cinema subscription.

...so what you win on the Sports swings, you lose on the Cinema roundabout. The tight-fisted beggars...

Thanks for putting this up mate. I've been wondering the same thing and haven't got round to phoning them yet. I don't have Sky Cinema, so hopefully I won't be affected by what you mention.
I would lose golf and formula one. I presume the "main event" channel remains for all and would have "The Open" and "Test Matches" and "Grand Prix" etc?
I must phone them and find out.

Yes, if you don't have Cinema, you should be able to choose which sports channels you want now and make a £ saving.

Had the whe lot with Sky. Phone, net and full tv with all sports and cinema. £110 pcm!
At end of last season cancelled sports and movies and now down to £76 pcm.
Haven't looked at new packages yet but thinking of doing Sky Now when we are on TV.

For anyone looking to save a few quid on their Sky bill; give them a call and say you want to cancel because you now find it too expensive. It's worth seeing what BT or Virgin offer and use it as leverage.

It took me 2 or 3 calls, but I got 40% off, had to agree to a new 18 month contract, but the 40% lasts the entire contract.

Everything including multi room and hd costs £62 a month.

You do have to be prepared to actually cancel it though (mine didn't get that far), but their retentions dept will contact you before it's cut off anyway.
