Martin has again reiterated that there will be changes tomorrow. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/allen-warns-there-could-be-6571/ I suspect the team may look like this ---------------------------Nelson----------------------------------- Harriman-------Barrett----------------Davies--------------Martin Whelpdale-----Linganzi----------------Hollands------------Dack ---------------MacDonald--------- Kedwell----------------------- I think Lee will be dropped because he was clearly annoyed last week at coming off (understandably and MA in that article is critical of attitude) Bayo ,because he was at the near post when Bradford scored, and he's obviously not so good defensively as Kedwell, Weston because he was very poor against Bradford, and seems to be a one trick pony, and Legge, not because he's playing particularly badly, but the defence needs shaking up, and Barrett is the captain
...............................................................Nelson...................................................... ....................Legge...................................Barrett...............................Davies............. Hariman.............Holand........................Linganzi..................Dack..................Martin ......................................................Bayo...................McDonald................................
Nelson Harriman Davies Legge Martin Whelpdale Linganzi Keds Lee Bayo Cody and that's why I'm not the manager...lol
I hope not,but I think that now, though, that if he plays Davies,he may bring back Gregory to play in front of him to give a bit of protection and look for a 0-0 or a breakaway 1-0. I hope not, but MA's first consideration is to keep a clean sheet. I don't know how many of you went to the Capital Cup game against Bristol City, but in that game I thought Davies,Dack and Gregory were very poor, so if those three do play tomorrow,I hope they will play well.
I know I've been saying it for the last 3 weeks but I think its vital that we play Callum Davies at the back, 9 games in the league with pretty much the same defence that still haven't kept a clean sheet should cause alarm bells to ring. The team I would like to see play and that will be played is probably different so I will go for my predicted Starting XI: Nelson Harriman Legge Davies Martin Linganzi Hollands Dack Kedwell Bayo McDonald
Gregory wouldn't make it in my starting X1 either,BRB, but I think its something that the manager might do. I'm pretty sure that Bayo won't start either. He's never played him,Cody and Keds together, and I can't see him doing that tomorrow either.
I think Gillingham will line up as follows....................... -------------------------Nelson---------------------------------- Harriman--------Legge---------------Barrett----------------Martin Lee-------------Linganzi-------------Hollands---------------Weston --------------Akinfenwa--------------Kedwell----------------------- Subs: Howard, Davies, Allen, Dack, Whelpdale, McDonald, German I think we will play Danny Kedwell and Adebayo Akinfenwa up top hoping that these two can bully Crewe's centre backs as we look to knock long balls from back to front and Akinfenwa and Kedwell will be told to hold the ball up and wait from runners from midfield, Amine Linganzi impressed me last week against Bradford City when we pushed him higher up the pitch so I hope that Linganzi is given a more attacking role and Danny Hollands can sit in-front of the back four. I would still like to see Gillingham play five in midfield from the start and play a passing game but I cannot see us playing one up-front unless we're defending a winning position by taking a striker off for a midfielder, we do need to change tactics and personal but I think we will change personal and stick with a unbalanced 4.4.2 formation, hopefully we can get a win tomorrow and maybe we can kick on from there - COME ON YOU GILLS!!!!!!
I would like to see Dack behind Kedwell, and McDonald.Dack showed in pre-season last season that he can score goals and pick up the ball in good areas and take chances. For me that is his best position,I don't think he is suited to the wing. Nelson Harriman,Legge,Barrett,Martin Whelpdale,Hollands,Weston Dack Kedwell,McDonald
As I thought he might,MA has brought in Gregory to protect Davies. This will probably have the effect of making us too narrow and the manager is probably looking for a 0-0 or a breakaway. I can see a 2-0 defeat coming on . Hope I'm wrong.
