Had serious reservations before and said so, but although they haven't completely gone away, Rudy should stay. He's stepped up this past month and deserves a chance next year. Like to see what replacement Malky gets in for Helga which would severley limit his game time, but Rudy has seemed a yard faster recently and is going in where it hurts. Perhaps his time spent at the club with HH has influenced him and brought him on. If so, that's another bonus from Helga's time with us. Message to Rudy - keep improving pal. You've got the size, and you can use both your head and feet well for a big man, it's just the speed off the mark and aggression that you need to keep working on and you'll get there.
I think he has improved during the season. During the Bolton game he even showed great close control on a couple of occasions. His heading is much better than when he first joined us. Still reminds me of Leo Fortune West with some of his misplaced headers though. Definitely worth keeping in the squad.
We still haven't got a huge squad and with HH going, we can't afford to lose too many players as I can't see that many arriving. Rudy does give us something a bit different. Even if he spend most of his time on the bench he'll be worth having around. He can at least have the early cup games. Some of his link up play has looked ok with several nice little touches. Not totally convincing, but can't imagine hime being that expenssive to keep around.
