It seems some journos are already beginning to alter there tone towards us, this match report is almost as if it was written for a London club...

    I like this comment.

"Yeah, Ba may be good, but can he produce the goods on a wet and windy Monday night in Sto.... oh? Really? Very well, carry on then :)"

Along the lines of what I said whilst watching the match. :)

    Taylor's next article.

Newcastle United used up all there luck tonight so it should be a walk over for Everton on Guy Fawkes day.

Seen a few articles suggesting that we 'played Stoke at their own game', WTF were they watching? That is one of the most offensive things you could say about a group of players.

We did in a way. We took the piss in the same way they do over throw ins. They waste more time than any other team I've ever seen, but it winds up their fans, players and manager no end if anyone else dares to try it.

I sincerely hope we've set a precendent and other teams help force Stoke into changing their tactics.

Imagine waking up next to it? Wouldn't be much different to a certain scene from 'The Godfather'.

This...And our first goal was fairly route one. Their pitch is deliberately tight for a reason and we exploited that, hastling and not giving any space to their wide men - this is what they usually do.

I don't think people are meaning to be insulting, we don't play like that every week, we DID adapt, and adapt better than Manure and Liverpool did!

Agreed. I think the main reason we won is because AP got his tactics spot on and once again the players stuck to their individual tasks for 90 mins. We showed stoke that two can play at their game and when we did their lack of quality really shone through. Hope pulls was crying into his peado cap all night! Toon came and conquered :)

Hi guys, watched the match last night and in the first 45 you lot were fantastic.

I don't buy into that offside rule where the player was coming back from an offside position; Leon Best hardly gained an advantage by doing that so for me your first goal was good, and a perfect cross from Gabriel Obertan too.

You did beat Stoke at their own game though. Earlier on this season Gary Neville highlighted just how quickly Stoke get about closing players down, I think it was also discussed on MOTD. Newcastle adopted this tactic yesterday and Stoke couldn't cope with it, they were absolutely humiliated in the first 45 minutes.

Second half I don't think Stoke played that much better but it looked like they did because Newcastle couldn't keep hold of the ball when they needed to. Cabaye's distribution was not what it can be and he let you down on numerous occasions in the middle. Had you been playing a counter-attacking team like Arsenal or Spurs, that could have been a nightmare for you. I do rate the guy though, he may just have struggled a bit with the physicality of the game.

Steven Taylor and Ryan Taylor done a defensive masterclass on Stoke, and Coloccini was his usual calm and collected self, I even gave the guy a little round of applause when he clipped that ball back in when it was going out for a throw. For me though, Jonas was your best defender. Poolis had definitely set out to attack Ryan Taylor as an offensive tactic and he come unstuck because of the fact that Jonas was covering LB, his plan was foiled and he had no plan B.

I also thought Guthrie did a very decent job deputising for Tiote, and certainly looked your best CM last night.

Well played overall, now everybody expects you to come to Manchester twice and get a double humping but as a United fan, I'm not looking forward to playing you at this time. You deserve your third place, don't listen to the tripe that you've had an easy run because it's no easier than Chelsea's opening 10 have been.

Not all the Journo's, check out this EPIC FAIL of an article:

NEWCASTLE UNITED up next and although they’ve been flying high I look at their squad and at Everton FC’s and know which I’d rather manage.

But for me, the Magpies haven’t really played anyone yet and I see this as a game we should be aiming to win, nevermind targeting a point on our travels.

Yes Alan Pardew’s side work hard and they’ve got a good spirit at the moment because things are going well but they’re far from outstanding, and probably not going to be in the top five for much longer.

Look at our display at St James’ Park last season, and you realise we can go and play there on our day.

However, the kick-off time is awful once again. A pointless 12pm KO against Man U, and now 12.45pm in the North East meaning a very early rise for our travelling fans.

I don’t think it helps the players much either.

When I was playing I preferred Saturdays at 3pm, or if it was a weeknight then 7.45pm was fine.

But mid-day and 12.45pm just doesn’t feel right, it was always in the back of my mind, and it certainly means the atmosphere in the ground can suffer on some occasions.

I’m sure there will be plenty of noise in Tyneside on Saturday though, and knowing the devotion of Everton fans they’ll get there regardless.

On another note about last night, how the **** can stoke get away with moving the touch lines in by about 4 feet. The FA really need to set out a standard pitch size. I understand that not all grounds are the same size so pitch sizes maybe slightly diffrent, but that is just a piss take.
