Was originally supposed to be Kevin Friend but has been changed to Mike Dean...

I think I posted something about this a little while ago as Friend refereed the Citey game on Sunday so I couldn't understand how he could ref another Sunderland game so quickly afterwards... Maybe the Premier League read not606??

I'd agree about Friend - didn't he ref the game at the SoL against Wigan and gave the third softwest penalty this season in the PL (Everton and Newcastle v Man U being the joint first!!)

Mike Dean can be a bit of a fussy ****er at times but he is generally okay.

For a bastard ref of course. Lol

Having spent about 18 years travelling the length and breadth of England following the lads from 17 to 35 years old, the last 12 years have been relatively quiet for me for away days. One of my last away games as a regular was a Boxing Day hammering (5-0) at Goodison some years back under Reidy and I think my last one (not including pre season tours which I have done a few) was a Friday night game at Leeds where we won 1-0. I think it was under Mick McCarthy? Tells you how long then.

But here I am, 47 and sitting waiting to get picked up to go down to Wigan Athletic on a cold Tuesday night when I could easily have gone down to the local pub and watched for free.

    Why?

Because football is once again exciting and fun under MoN and I just fancy going down live and seeing the game. Amazing but 5weeks ago I couldn't even motivate myself for home games and now I'm excited to go to an away game.

    Fickle fan or rejuvenated fans.

I'm just a happy fans again.

The strange thing is that Wigan are getting a lot of penalties this season.

Nowt to do with them diving like Tarzan getting chased by head hunters then?
To be fair Dean or Friend doesn't really bother me as long as that useless POS Webb is nowhere near, again we can't rely on refs to do us any favours.
