It finally looks like we have the making of a fairly promising back 4.. Kissa has not been the same player from 2 seasons ago plus O'Brien has been pants and the Larry playing players out of position cost us... BUT what a change there has been since he started playing the boys in the right areas.. Lees has been great and O'Dey is starting to grow in the CB role instead of LB... White has looked solid and Connelly back in the team has helped Snoddy start to play.. Also correct me if i'm wrong (Which i'm sure you all will) but we have not had a Yellow card in 2 games and now have 2 clean sheets on the bounce. Thats Progress.... Its funny old game but this goes to show play players in the right positions and they will play to there potential. Good on ya Larry you realised something was wrong and you sorted it sharpish. I was a bit down at the start of the season and I know things can change again quickly but really enjoying the way we are playing at the moment and the boys look well up for it. Also congrats to Larry on 150 games as Manager at Leeds Utd... MOT
Love the way we're playing, but not getting carried away re the defence. Yes two clean sheets is fantasic but the opposition in those games didn't have the greatest of firepower,I.e.they didn't have someone like Brighton's Mackail-Smith who caused our defence no end of problems. I'm yet to be convinced about O'Dea to be honest,I think he's the weak link. As for the rest of the defence,Lonnergan's been a revelation, the return of Connelly a steadying influence,& Lees & White have been awesome. The midfield since the arrival of Pugh looks well balanced,Clayton & Howson have developed a great partnership,& Snods seems back to his best. Keogh has been brilliant, works so hard, the perfect foil for McCormack, who is pure class,& would walk into half the PL teams imo, he's that good. The bench looks strong as well,,very experienced. Even Rachubka looks the part should Lonners get injured. So all in all the season's shaping up nicely, long may it continue. Seven points from our next 3 games, including our game in hand at Birmingham, could see us in an auto position,& this time hopefully we'll stay there.
I worry about our inevitable dip in form after Christmas. Do we have the leadership in the squad to keep us in the playoff positions when fortune swings the other way? I don't think so. But at the moment, I'm enjoying the way we're playing. We're top of the form table and our team look like there's a great spirit about them. Robert Snodgrass - eight assists in 10 appearances. Ross McCormack - nine goals in 10 appearances. Where would Leeds United be without the Scots?
Leeds-18 just seen your pic on Viking some Hull fan your not a split personality are you? Nowhere probably, we have had some Gems from north of the border... Long may it continue.
It's not my picture, just some scum fan off General Chat who sent Viking this photo of his lovely face. I wouldn't be seen dead wearing a red shirt!
Speaking of red shirts, they keep popping up in Scarboro,am i wrong to get my dander up? It`s an insult, but her indoors tells me to shut up,ignore them, hrmphh
Got it in one YIKB. Starting to move in the right direction. We must be making progress when Becchio can't start at the moment. As you say, 2 clean sheets & no bookings or sendings off for a couple of weeks. In Grayson we trust, MOT
Keogh is doing great but Becchio will get you goals but I personally would not change a thing until it needs changing or if players are starting to get knackered / injured. However we cant have Howson and Snoody playing so many games in one season. Thats the challenge for Larry when to rest key personel. I reckon he will have learnt his lessons from last season. Up and at em!!!
We also have players who really care about the club like Howson, Lees, White and Keogh. Along with the ones who know the place like Snoddy and Luciano.
