His form was mixed. Clearly not valued by Rafa. He is one of the players we should cash in on, and if the funds are re-invested, it'll help us get closer to winning something.
Another shame for me but he needs to be playing football and it isn't going to be under Rafa who doesn't rate him. Its fair enough. I think he will go on to do very well elsewhere. Little point in Rafa keeping him, he may as well get someone he trusts and wants. Same for Mitro.
Personal terms now agreed. We are just waiting on the clubs to agree a fee so that will take 6 weeks as per the norm with these sloth like window licking ****s we have running our club.
Oh how you are wrong - Sloths are slow when they don't want something. When they want something they are quicker than a Leopard. A price willbe agreed very quickly.
Not sure what happened here. He seemed to have potential. There must be some good reason Rafa doesn't fancy him. Still, we move on.
I think sometimes you just have to accept with a change of manager comes a change in the type of personnel they utilise. Mbemba can go elsewhere, do really well and people will say "Rafa got that one wrong". Or now people are searching for a reason to say he's not good enough, or must not be if Rafa doesn't think so. I don't think either are necessarily true. You can be right for one club or manager and completely wrong for another. I suppose my only gripe would be he looked really good under Rafa. He was a big part of the late season run that almost so us escape the trap door, and then early this season he did really well in a variety of positions. He was better at left and right back than Manquillo.
This for me, I don't mind seeing players leave like Mbemba (23) and Mitro (23) but planks of wood like Manquillo (24) and Joselu (28) need to go first otherwise we are WEAKENING the squad in the short term at the very least. Both the supposed out goings are younger, better, more potential, Mbemba can play more positions than Manqy, Mitro has scored more EPL goals than Joselu. FACT! Don't care about "Rafa's style" if your a good coach you can adapt to suit your better players - if you want to - or coach them to play your style.
Does no one actually remember how piss poor he was in most of his last games at CB?? yes, he can cover fullback, but rather we sold him and bought a proper RB to be honest
When given a proper run at the end of the relegation season he was excellent. The bit part games he has had since off Rafa he has struggled a little more. But no more than Lejeune did until he got a run of games under his belt. I don't think its fair at all to judge him like that personally. Young too with lots of potential for development under a good coach. I don't mind like I say, not for Rafa so we need to get shot and get a player we can use. It will be a centre back we need to replace him though.
The games he didn't perform in were the ones where it looked like he wasn't following the game plan - think this was the nail in the coffin for him. For better or worse Rafa doesn't seem to want to work with players who don't follow order - see Mitro as well. Would definitely agree if he goes, he needs to be replaced with a proper CB, but right now he's taking up wages which, if he's not going to be used, could be better utilised elsewhere
I don't get this not following order or game plan thing to be honest. I think its rubbish and I've never seen it myself. As Mitro has shown at Fulham he is perfectly capable of following tactical instruction. This myth, which seems to have come from the Chronicle which is possibly on a par with The Mag as reliable source of information, is a bit daft. These lads have come from clubs with great pedigree for producing tactically astute players in Anderlecht, Partizan. They are young lads at 23 and they were following orders just fine the year we went down when all around them weren't. To be fair I don't think that is Rafa's thoughts on it and he doesn't appear to have said that, I think he just doesn't think their game fits the way he likes to play. Rather than mould them or change them, he has obviously decided they either can't change, or he has no desire to as he can just buy someone he sees as a better fit. If he goes we have to sign a centre back as we'd only have 3 and one of them would be Clark, unless we try to move Dummett back to that role. Very risky, you'd be one bad injury away from complete disaster.
Yep we would need to find a replacement who is good but OK with not being 1st choice. Ideally we would have a good young prospect who can come in and do a good job if needed and gets involved every now and then as part of normal squad rotation. We are probably going to have to buy though. Clark is perfectly capable as cover of called upon also but we can't go into the new season with 3 CB's and Dummy especially when we have no LB coverage strangely, seeing as we once had a dressing room full.
Hope they put a sell on clause in the deal, think he may come good again in one of the European Leagues
