Group A: Manchester City, PSG, RB Leipzig, Club Bruges Group B: Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Porto, AC Milan Group C: Sporting Lisbon, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Besiktas Group D: Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sheriff Tiraspol Group E: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Benfica, Dynamo Kiev Group F: Villarreal, Man Utd, Atalanta, Young Boys Group G: Lille, Sevilla, FC Salzburg, Wolfsburg Group H: Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit St Petersburg, Malmo We get Juve in our group, just like last time we were defending champs, we didnt make it out of the group stage then, hopefully not an omen! Other than that, we should be good to get through that group though. City get a hard group for once!! PSG! and Leipzig are a decent side too! Man Utd and Liverpool both get hard groups too! Liverpool get Atletico, Porto and Milan, that might be tough. And Utd know all about Villareal plus Atalanta are no slouches. I think all PL teams can get through though, but I think ours might be the easiest this time! Juve are the only real threat and they are not the team they used to be
United paid for an easy group I see @Bodinki city for once? Go back and check their groups for like the first 5 seasons in the champs league. ****ing hard Chelsea group easy too. Just a battle for top spot Liverpool and city with the only tough groups
Villareal beat them in last years EL final, and like I said, Atalanta are pretty decent. They should still get through though, with the improvements they have made. Liverpool are the ones who might struggle, thats a hella hard group
City:. PSG are a threat, Leipzig mediocre. Brugge easy. Not a terrible draw. Chelsea:. Juve is tough. Zenith a banana peel. Not easy, but again, not the worst. United:. If they don't qualify from that group they have to play in the Icelandic league next year Liverpool... Three tough opponents. WTF is ACDC Milan doing in group 4 anyway?
Not because they're in your group I always liked AC Milan, from back in the early 90's. Great European club. Fwiw, it's their first season back in fcking yonks and they're not the leviathons they used to be. It'll take them a couple of seasons imo. I think they'll struggle to get out the group and wont pose a threat to Livpl
I've not followed them recently but their name still carries weight. Especially for us having played them in the finals in 2005 where they absolutely dominated us (but somehow lost) and 2007 where we marginally were better (but somehow lost). Obviously no one from back then is still playing... But I'd much rather some team with a name I can't pronounce
That must've been incredible. The atmosphere always seems volatile/electric. I bet the red flares were going strong. Did you trash the place you yorkie heathens
Ibrah, Giroud the only two I know of. I just looked up the squad to see if any of that Euros Italian squad were in there. Not a one. But they have a Maldini...
Us? We're bloody angels mate. It did get lively at one point, a couple of ours got slashed earlier in the day, Ities renown for the blade, ****ers. Their police were absolute ****ers too, when there was a clash an hour before kick off, it was only our lot that got the baton. Tbf it was a good party atmosphere, both sets of fans mixing OK in parts, turned nasty when the news of the slashing filtered through
I remember it vaguely mate. And tbf at the time there were plenty Leeds fans telling of being almost lynched by some of the ultra types over there. Inside the ground it must've been buzzing though. It really is a once in a lifetime experience. I've only ever experienced it at CL home games tbh, never away.
Try and do at least one, worth the experience. I remember Anderlecht coming to ER, singing in English all game, most of the songs were yours, did their homework, about 1200 of them but they did a great job.
Bruges is a fabulous City ... hopefully they drop into the Europa and might just get the chance to surprise the Missus with a 'long weekend' that by an 'amazing coincidence' just happens to have the chance to watch Leicester while we there ...
