In fairness such action is fairly normal after a side gets relegated and has no hope of getting back in the following season.

I recall us shedding a lot of staff from admin, ticketing etc after relegation. Not sure if we even asked for volunteers.

The bit that hits the headlines and will seriously affect moral in the club is the involvement of Curtis and others who Potter brought with him.

While I haven't paid much attention, Potter appears a good manager and given the time and resources he will get them moving up again. Their trouble is the yank owners want quick improvements and will take knee jerk reactions if things don't get better in their timescale. <doh>

We have been lucky that after initial serious errors and then Malkygate, VT has learnt, been patient and brought in people with the right skill sets (eventually).

The next test, relegation or not, will be getting the right successor for Warnock. Bellamy clearly now no longer on the list.

That is a massive topic for debate in conceivably a few weeks time.

If PL does he get another chance balancing the good ie his ability to keep us up with the bad ie his poor transfer record?

If Championship will he get another chance in light of the reality he “owns” that division and knows what’s needed to get promoted?

Or will he just decide irrespective of the division City are in that enough’s enough and would prefer to retire to the country?

I know changes are made and that football is a unique business, but redundancy has specific legal connotations.
You can't make a person redundant , only a role.
If you make the assistant manager role redundant, you can't just replace the person that goes.
It's why managers get paid off. It removes the topic of redundancy.

So long as they get more than 5p in the pound they'll be doing well.

I hadn't thought of it like that. It makes the situation even more alarming.

But if you get a voluntary redundancy programme, then it's as you were. You can do what you like. However, to induce VR you need to put money on the table and not the bare minimum.

It also has implications with regard benefits if you take VR.
Maybe they're asking people to resign.
Even with VR it's the role that is made redundant. If you immediately fill it again the role isn't redundant.

I understand The need to reduce costs, but putting all the coaching team in consultation isn't good.
    What must Potter be thinking?

If the wurzels hold on that would be 2 top away wins on the spin to put them back in the mix.

The Americans should have cut the staff when they bought the club....350 staff members is far to big for small clubs like Swansea and Cardiff. Not all will get redundancy as a lot of minor staff will be let go and if favorites like Curt who has earned millions at the club is not necessarily needed then he will go. It won't make much difference to him these days......He will still use the staff entrance and all that that entails and the only difference is he wont get paid.....

Pales into insignificance when you consider what Cardiff are planning on doing, or not doing, to Nantes. <doh>

What, finding out what the legal position is?
Go and read one of the extensive threads on here covering the subject and save yourself some embarasment.

I suppose the swans would have taken their standard approach and given them 5p in the pound.:emoticon-0138-think
