Update March 1st after 39 games. Trends table is showing 4 clubs making up the chase for auto promo. The top 8 teams have really broken away from the rest for the playoff spots. It is going to be a high 6th place points total this year. ============================================= This TRENDS thread to be taken with a pinch salt. It uses teams current FORM over previous 6 championship matches and linking it to the seasons league position. A projection (trend) was then calculated using these figures. For amusement only !! ================================================= So here is the result of the basic idea of using current form on a teams performance in the table. In the table below; NOW PPG = Current Points Per game FORM PPG = Points Per Game over last 6 games ADJ PPG = Taking account of above 2 GAMES LEFT: games left to play TREND = A projection of Games left multiplied by the ADJ PPG figure. This figure will be the "Trend" figure for the "current game" Previous TREND figures are shown to the right for previous 5 game totals. Scroll Down for full table now covering the last 6 games. Charlton have left it too late after an impressive run of form. Wigan are making some headway in making up ground on Rotherham to save the drop. ======================================================== ================================================== Figures shown to 1 place decimals but actual used in calculations. Form plays an important part of a team confidence. A couple of wins and team spirit improves and transforms performance. That said, where do the wins come from in a poor run of form ?? Team changes ? New faces take time to settle in and experience counts when the going gets tough. Suggestions on a postcard to MC. This thread is only a glimpse of seeing how current form can start a run of confidence.
An update on the previous Trends thread using current "form" over past 6 games. Bottom 3 teams look really adrift of the rest given their current poor form.
Ringo, I intend to do it weekly to see how Millwall sink slowly down the tube. Ofcourse if 'wall manage to win a game things might not be so black just a very dark gray. Enjoy the ride ..
By time we are in March i'd expect to see clear blue skies over the Den, we've had our slump and have plenty of time to put things right.
Here we go with Game 28 update. Makes for better reading than previous trends. Table now covers all 6 previous "trends" figures.
Trends table updated after game 29. top and bottom looking settled at this stage of the season. We await developments .....
It is looking a lot better for Leeds now at the bottom of the table. They are pulling away from the others in the TREND projection. It is looking like a mid table finish in the 55 -62 point range at end of season. Even Millwall have pulled out of the bottom 3 !!!
Update after 33 games for the benefit of our Millwall friends who are suffering great pain as each week goes by. They must race to see the Rotherham and Fulham results even before cheering if Leeds are losing. The bookies just make Rotherham their only hope of staying around for while longer. Guess who they play on Saturday...... could be interesting !!
