Doesn't include any of ours, unsurprisingly... Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season Goalkeeper: John Ruddy (Wolves) Defenders: Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Conor Coady (Wolves), John Terry (Aston Villa), Ryan Fredericks (Fulham) Midfielders: Tom Cairney (Fulham); Ruben Neves (Wolves); James Maddison (Norwich) Forwards: Bobby Reid (Bristol City), Matej Vydra (Derby), Albert Adomah (Aston Villa) Manager: Neil Warnock (Cardiff) 2018 EFL Awards Shortlist (selected) Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season Tom Cairney (Fulham), Ruben Neves (Wolves), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham)
I hate it when these sort of things are announced before the season is even over. Also, I guarantee Chester has had a better season than Terry, but John Terry is John Terry so he gets in there on name alone.
Sqawka have Terry in ninth place in the season defender rankings. Chester is third. Some bloke called Curtis is at No.1. The only player who of ours who makes the top twenty in any position is Bowen, who's fifth in the Forward rankings.
Well if they're the best forwards in the Championship then all 3 promoted clubs have some serious strengthening to do.
i was for some reason thinking he was 23 but he's 27, played in champ for 5 consecutive years since leaving us
I like Cairney but the fact he's been playing in the Championship not the Premier League would suggest he has some weaknesses in his game , so saying he's too slow or too one-footed aren't completely ridiculous
I always liked Cairney as a player, but he was a classic case of somebody whose style simply didn't fit with the rest of the team at the time, nor the managers' tactics. It's regrettable that he was let go but I can see why it happened.
