Victory today could put us into 8th which is pretty impressive, It's a shame we had such a dodgy start to the season. Now I know we are having a great run but I think it is issential it continues for at least another 2 or 3 games, 3 points against Ipswich would be fantastic, Anything less would be ****e, I would love to see us get to a comfortable 8th place before any dip in form comes along, You know it makes sense.
It's the points gap from 6th that really counts though. Before Scunny we were 7 points from 6th place. Two games and 2 wins later we are still 7 points off 6th. We could do with going berserk and winning 5 or 6 on the trot.
8th would be great, shame nigel didnt have his players from the start. happy days mind you.it was looking like a relegation scrap at 1 point!
I don't think we're under any pressure to get to the play offs as some of the teams around us are so if we continue to play with confidence I can see us repeating our brilliant run in of 2008. Realistically QPR and Leicester are looking good for automatic IMO and I just gutted I can't make today so I'll predict 2-1 to the Tigers with the same scoreline on Tuedsday.
If we beat Ipswich today, which we have every chance of doing, we're in for a very good day where the league table lies. Disregarding QPR as we have no chance of catching them, look at the fixtures of the other teams that currently take up the play-off/automatic promotion places. Leeds v Norwich Nott'm Forest v Cardiff Swansea v Doncaster Four of the teams in the play-off/automatic places are playing each other which potentially means that at least two of the teams will be dropping points come the end of today. This puts us in a very strong position as this season we still have Cardiff, Nottm Forest, Norwich and Swansea to play. Taking all this into account, we have a great chance of snatching a play-off place come the end of the season if we can carry on our recent brilliant form.
