    Erm... bit contentious this:
    • Patrick Bamford
    • Troy Deeney
    • Daryl Murphy

I'd say these would be my three:
    • Christophe Berra (begrudgingly)
    • Troy Deeney
    • Matt Ritchie

Obviously he's been fantastic, but overall I think the three I've listed have been slightly better.

Thinking about it more it's a terribly lazy shortlist if you ask me, they've just picked the top goalscorers, I think it's a rubbish list personally.

TMC has nailed it for me, seems mighty unfair that it's all strikers.

To be fair to Murphy he looks likely to end up the top scorer - nobody would have predicted that at the start of the season - and has given a pretty mediocre Ipswich side a fighting chance of promotion via the play-offs so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised to see him listed.

Was Holty on that shortlist the year we went straight up?

Yes, with Taarabt and Scott Sinclair. Taarabt won.

Incidentally, wikipedia tells me that since the inception of the Football League Awards in 2006, we are third in the list of award winners (with 5) behind Huddersfield (on 8), Cardiff (on 6) and joint with Preston. Seems like we've done quite well given that we were only in the football league for four of those seasons (and only one came in our two promotion seasons - for Tom Adeyemi)!
