I know it's a long way off and we might not be there on the 19th May but I intend to book flights soon for that weekend and visit family if all goes wrong. Firstly do you get tickets for the game from Hull City or Wembley direct. Also, where do most people prefer to stay. Central London or the Wembley / Watford area? Any good hotel recommendations.
Tix will be distributed through TicketMaster website/call centre. This unfortunately means the facepainters and gloryhunters can jump the queue.
Direct from city but if you don't know a passholder or haven't been to any games this season, you could struggle
Ticketwise you'll struggle because even season ticket holders who aren't going would struggle to get the tickets to you if it's anything like the last time. I was a very helpful member of staff at the Post Office depot away from not getting mine in time for me to go to the game myself. Hotel wise, it's not the best hotel in the world, but there's an Ibis right next to Wembley. Last time round I booked between the two Watford games and got it at the standard night rate because they hadn't marked the day as an event day yet. It was ideal for me because I wasn't worried about travelling away from it on the night before the game, but it meant I could be casual on the day of the match. I went down first thing and bought my programme, scarf etc and went and dropped them off in the room before meeting people in a pub. (At some point I'm going to have framed the playoff final scarf, programme, and the unused ticket I've got and put it up in my office)
Worst comes to the worst, you'll be able to get Club Wembley seats without too much difficulty, though they're about £100 each.
Stayed at Watford Travelodge in the middle of their town centre (new building and good value for money) for both the playoff semi final and the Wembley final - good spot, friendly locals and easy to get the tube to Wembley Park. Far far to early though to even be contemplating getting that far.. fingers crossed.
I also stopped in the travelodge in the middle of Watford, we decided really late on that we wanted to stay over night and still got a decent deal, as it was an awful room but cheap and cheerful breakfast and was in good position. Was at Wembley for half 10.
Stopped in a Prem Inn in downtown Romford last time, then drove to Wem...ber...ley took about 20 mins...Parked at Harrow on the Hill tube station. Two stops from Wem..ber..ley..Went into the local Asda for a bit of brekkkie. Piece of weee-wee...Happy days..
Thanks for the replies. Club Wembley does that mean eating prawn sandwiches , wearing a suit and talking proper like....right up my street. Pr
At the last play off game, the standard tickets were £36, £50, £64 or £76, with Club Wembley ticket at just over £100, the average price across all seats was £46.
Yeah, we stayed in Watford. Premier Inn I think. Then just take the tube straight there. Simples. After we've won, if you don't feel like celebrating in London, there are plenty of undercrowded places to eat and drink in and around Watford.
A lot of people seem confident we'll get in the play offs? I think we've missed a trick strengthening and we've been left behind a bit by Reading, Birmingham and Middlesbrough when we had the chance to strengthen. We 'may' make the play offs, but I think the final is beyond us this year.
Three of the six places already spoken for - West Ham Soton and Reading won't be caught by us now.. That leaves Blackpool Birmingham Boro Cardiff Brighton us and maybe Leeds in for the remaining three places. Need to get at least a draw against the scum tonight and beat Ipswich Sat and its then game on to reach 75 points.
Only for football matches, for gigs or any other sport, you're allowed to stick a pint in them. Bloody stupid.
