1st end of season QPR Played 39 --- points 79 finished on 88 points 2nd end of season Norwich Played 39 -- points 70 finished on 84 points This season after 39 games..... 1st Saints points 78 2nd Reading points 73 QPR walked over the line in the end with a very unflattering set of results, lots of draws, couple of wins and couple of defeats. Norwich had a storming run at the end to go up finishing 4 points ahead of 3rd. Needless to say I believe the total this year for the top 2 will be higher. Just a little reminder that we arent there just yet. Will be few more twists and turns but i honestly believe if we can get through the Blackpool game with at least a 6 point lead on the hammers then I feel we will have more than a foot in the prem. All the top 3 will lose / drop points between now and April 28th. Our 5 point gap over Reading is huge at this stage of the season. I really want us to win it now and if we finish 2nd, will be delighted... but tinged with a bit of disappointment we didnt win the trophy. Want to win it and have started to really believe we will! Tth though 2nd and promotion would still be an incredible achievement. This time a year ago we were worried that we wouldn't get an auto spot out of Laegue 1 and here we are 12 months later 5 yes 5 points clear at the top of the Football League. Just amazing. Very few if any believed we would do it this season.
we deserve to win it and i think if you asked Nigel now would he take 2nd - i think he would be positive enough to also say Saints can win it. Bring it on
A few weeks ago I would have snatched your hand off for 2nd and a secure PL spot, but illogically I now want the title. It's ours to lose and we are in a fantastic position..Jos and Billy both said recently that they want the title. Would be awful not to do it now...Nicola has already bought a new bottle of Silvo and shifted the JPT and League 1 runners up trophies to one side to make room.
Think I would take 2nd now if offered, though I think I'd feel very disappointed if we didn't win the title. Think it'd be a bit of an anti-climax if, for example, we'd secured promotion before the last day and were just playing for the title and lost it. But, of course, promotion is the main objective.

There's no question - surely? Imagine being able to tell the Skates that WE saved them, whilst also securing the title for ourselves.
It would surely take a very sad individual to want to see Pompey getting relegated ahead of their own team winning a Championship, and having champagne corks popping everywhere, "We Are The Champions" blaring over the PA system etc etc

I would take 2nd now thank you. When we're in the Prem we'll be looking forwards, not backwards. In the same way that none of us really care that Brighton won League 1 right now, I don't think I would be losing sleep over not winning the Championship as I'm on my way to Stamford Bridge, The Emirates etc. next season. Although we really should win the league from this position, if i'm answering this hypothetical question with the utmost seriousness i would take 2nd right now.
Better scenario, we already have won the title mathematically going into the last game due to beating Boro the week before, Coventry need a point to send the skates down, we send out the u7's lose and we celebrate the unveiling of the Championship trophy at home
