    Or is it?

"Well its hard to tell which was the premier league side out there in then first half"

Gary Lineker, Match of the day, Bristol City V West Ham, FA cup 2015.

The only thing that we didn't match West Ham on that day was in putting the ball in the net, So we do need to buy a really high quality striker with a proven track record if we can tempt one in. The rest of the squad needs numbers but I am fairly confident the core of this team (if we can keep them) will do well a level up.

We can let you have Morisson for free if you want a proven goal scorer? Currently averaging a goal every game (if you take the average over the last two games)

Couple of Championship standard strikers are a must if we want to compete.

Yes Wilbraham (and latterly Agard) have scored a few along the way this season but doing it a level up from L1 is a very different proposition, and personally I would only have both of them as squad members next year. We cant let sentiment get in the way. If we do we'll be struggling and trying to play catch up.

The last player we had from you was a right **** ****.

If we're looking for a striker we need look no further than Will Grigg. Only has a year left on his Brentford contract so wouldn't be to pricey. Scored a bucket load this season and he reminds me a bit of Bamford. Pretty sure he'll make the step up. Chuck in Jamie Murphy and Tom Bradshaw and we'll have a very decent attacking force combined with Wilbs, JET, Freeman and Agard.

Not sure we need that many forwards - midfield and C defence & goaly positions need a reinforcement.
If we were to forgo one of those, Murphy OR Bradshaw, which would you lose ?
Or would you sell JET/Agard (which isn't going to happen)/Wilbs or Freeman (yeah sure !)

I would keep what we have and add one decent striker, and get an extra piece of quality for midfield and defence.
A first rate central defender to push Flint and Williams for a place would be useful

It's not the end of the world if he's not. Too inconsistent and wont set the Championship alight.

We're an upwardly mobile club and should be an attractive proposition for ambitious players. Those that don't want to be part of it, or who the manager doesn't rate can leave.

Simples indeed angelic. JET is very typical of so many players that have wandered around many teams throughout their careers and never reached their supposed potential.

They are full of promise and talent and yet something in their makeup doesn't permit them to take full advantage of the situation. We constantly hear that certain players weren't on their game for some reason or other and that isn't good enough because the commitment has to be 100% all the time, and not just when the players decide to show up.

We need the types of players to complement the existing ones who give their all every time out, and looking back on this season there were many that met that criteria. Cotts will know what kind of flavour needs to be added to the mix and this could be the most promising off-season for many years because belief in his abilities are at a high level and long may it continue.

If you mean getting promotion again then I'm not sure the club will want it with capacity likely to be 12,000 or so less than when it's finished.
We'd lose millions on possible missed gate receipts.

Exactly Mike, and despite my on-going reservations about Wilbs and Agards ability to make a real impact in the Championship, I'm inclined to think they have the right mind set and attitude. SC has publicly praised both recently but we need to be competitive from the off.

I have complete faith in our Manager to try and do the right thing not the sentimental one.

But we want millions for staying there not having parachute payments like Cardiff or Wigan for being relegated....

but Wigan had a good old run at the top, which is remarkable considering their size and age (whereas Cardiff were just crap in the Prem).
Parachute payments give clubs a fighting chance of getting back when they lose all their stars.

Lansdown has said that is the club's ultimate aim, and Cotts has said we are capable of achieving that.
All sounds good to me - do you want it sir ? Ooh sir !

Daunting? No I don't think that's the right word. But if we don't strengthen in the right areas, or bulk up our squad significantly then we could struggle. I think ruthless is the right word for the championship. The great thing is about the championship that if you have a good run of 4-5 games you'll normally shoot up the table. You can't say the same for other leagues such as the premiership.

I watched enough championship on sky sports and would probably say we're on par with a lot of mid table clubs in terms of quality and performance. But watching teams like Brentford, wolves and especially Bournemouth we need to strengthen.

Strange that those are the teams who fairly recently came up from Div 1.
It seems that Div 1 is a great place to get your sh_t together
