Championship clubs (including Leicester?) linked with Dundee Utd pair

Strong rumours circulating around the net that City are one of several Championship clubs touting highly-rated Dundee Utd. pair Johnny Russell (striker) and Gary Mackay-Steven (winger), with some sources suggesting Leicester maybe the only club willing and/or able to match the £3.5m price tag that United want for the two.

Just to add to the wealth of talent that have made their way from Scotland to Leicester in recent years...

 

This story has been around for a while.. I know fook all about them.. but buying from jock land is always a gamble.

 

Both very promising young players.

Gary Mackay-Steven would be a fan favourite for his flair.

Johnny Russell is a faster but obviously less experienced David Nugent.

 

We have had some pants from Scotland - deep freeze immediately springs to mind. We have also had some right gems - Gary Mc, Ally Mauchlen and the amazing Davie Gibson. Wouldnt right them off just cos they play in SPL, and Steve Walsh knows what he is doing.

 

scottish players usually flop but gary mackail-steven looks absolute quality.

 

If Nigel wants them then I would go for them. Not at 3.5M though

Our only successful signings from Scotland have been Sol Bamba and Patrick Kisnorbo. The rest have been crap

 

These guys look the real deal. Mackay Steven especially.

Dunno, he was pretty handy at Forest.

Now a lot of noise being made about Derby being very close to signing Russell.

 

I ****ing hope not.

 

Reports are saying Dundee United are going to cash in on him but as of yet no bids have been accepted

We all know Nigel likes to do his business early. Ritchie De Laet and Matty James was signed up pretty quick last year

Everybody was cacking their pants over Jelavic.. he has tailed off at everton..,

 

Everton were challenging for the Champions League, bit unfair to suggest he wouldn't have been superb for us based on that.

 

They was a very long time ago. Too many bad ones since

Rab Douglas, Mark De Vries, Joe Hamill, Stephen Hughes, Alan Maybury, Robbie Neilson and Momo Sylla all crap

 

To be fair, most of them were signed by Levein, who was deluded enough to think that the Scottish Prem was on par with the Championship. Pearson and his scouts are a little more aware of what is needed in this league.
