Jeez, tough opening 2 months for us..... need to wait until October before we see the supposed 'easier' fixtures start coming our way!
Don't think we'll really know how "tough" any other team will be until the season is well underway. On paper the Prem relegees should be strong but you never know. Some supposedly "strong" sides will dissappoint whereas others like Ipswich last year will surprise everyone. Such is the Championship.
I read that all Saturdays opening games are at 12.30 - all League 1 at 5.30 and League 2 at 3 - unsure why?
Is this to do with Sky Extra or whatever they are calling it now? The extra streaming service that will take place of each club's 'player' channel??? I think each Championship club is getting something like a minimum of 24 games broadcast via it. Yet another nail in the coffin for getting bums on seats inside the stadiums of any struggling / mid-table sides in my opinion. Great for fans that can't make it to games granted, but how many more fans will become 'fair weather' / glory hunters as a result?
There’s an explanation of sorts in this article https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ick-offs-among-1000-efl-live-games-in-2024-25
Not sure where to put this and don't want to start another thread......................... https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/202425-carabao-cup-round-one
Only 10 days or so after the friendly at the Azteca Memorial Dump on 3rd August. Round 2 of the early season punch up.
I can't remember if it was 2022 or 2017, we had arranged to play Pompey in a pre--season friendly and then drew them in the League Cup 1st Round, so the friendly was cancelled and new opponents found. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with the Rovers friendly.
