Who thinks we can still win the league or finish top two, just wondering after that mini run we had and just lost two league games on the bounce.I thought we smashed TWS in the secound half, personaly i am still confident we will go up. Your thoughts please.
Couldn't possibly say at this moment in time. We all want to go up but play like we have for the last fortnight you can forget it. The other teams might not have the quality of player that we have, but the squads they have are performing better as a team.
Dawson's absence is glaring, so is Meyler's and Hernandez is clearly better than Akpom We are not clearly better than the other Top 5 teams but I still expect us to recover and be in the mix
If Bruce ****s off very soon I think we will beat 100 points easy. If he stays much longer it will be a relegation battle.
I was getting very close to giving in to the excitement and believing we could be promoted automatically. It's still obviously possible but I've reverted back to finishing in playoffs. I think finishing out of the playoffs though will frankly be a disastrous season, our players are too good to finish any lower than 4/5
I still think we will finish in the top 2. However from what I saw in the last couple of games on TV, we need to have strikers on the pitch, 2 preferably, 1 up isn't working!
I didn't say it couldn't happen, I said if it did, we'd have to treat the season as disastrous and not let some people off lightly.
No, I think a new manager would get him and the others playing football. Getting in the front foot, attacking and dominating, rather than the dour and very negative 10 behind the ball long ball ****e currently on offer.
I think we can still win automatic promotion. We are only 4 points off 2nd place with well over half the season to go. When Brownie took us up we were about 10th in the middle of January and only just missed automatic that season. When Reading went up they went on a great run in the 2nd half of the season to charge up the league from mid table and get automatic. We are missing Dawson, and Meyler in particular and Abel and Maloney today. Others need to step up and take their opportunities or ship out in January. Bruce in
...and we'll never get to the Premier League or play in an FA Cup Final (as my dad's generation used to say)
Huddlestone was probably the best midfielder on the field today and could not do much more, even played well as a centre back. If he had the pace, he would be great in that position as never seems to panic (Maguire's similar), unlike Bambi Davis who's like sergeant Jones sometimes when the ball's passed to him.
In the 03/04 and 04/05 promotion seasons we had the 2 league titles in our hands and dropped them. This year we should be clear at the top already. Winning trophies is not something that we do is it. Chuck in the rugby teams also
Ok I`ll pin my colours to the mast, yes I do think we will go up top two, I haven`t seen any team who are significantly better then us this season, we have had most the play against most, and only had ourselves to blame for the losses. Injuries permitting, with those absentees coming back, I still believe whole heartedly we`ll be top two come the end of the season.
Still think we have a great chance despite my pessimistic feelings tonight, What we need is players back and better luck with injuries. All the top teams would have suffered if they had lost a number of key players like we have how ever 1pt from 9 is very poor with our squad so we need to get over this blip NOW and get back to winning ways before the gap between us and the top two gets much bigger. I know after seeing our best eleven that there is no better in this league, now its about attitude from the players, belief from the fans and hopefully fingers crossed better luck with injuries
