Frank's comments today about standards slipping at Chelsea, just about says it all. We have the players, but we don't have the mentality! We need desperately need Frank to help instil a champions mentality in the likes of Oscar, Hazard, Moses, Marin, Ba.

How to grind out results when the chips are down, or when inferior teams like QPR/Swansea park the bus - it's what we used to do and is what we seem to have lost.

Terry being out for those games never helped either, i am pretty sure we would not of lost either of them games if he had of been captaining us but as you say we need some aspect of the old school kept in place.

I dont think there's a single True Blue who isnt behind the idea of signing Frank up for another 2 years!

On a reduced contract. He's no longer worth £90,000 per week more than Mata.

Yes ...but I reckon Frank would be more than happy to remain a Blue for half of his current pay check!

Heck hasn't he already agreed to a pay cut in order to stay with us? That already is a compromise on his part.

  7. Doesn't Lampard's comments tell you fans that he's already got one foot out the door?

I really dont see why the amount he is being paid is an issue here.
He has been an excellent player for the club, is still scoring on a weekly basis and is a vital cog in the Chelsea machine with his experience and winner's mentality, which he can pass on to the next generation of Chelsea players. That is a priceless commodity.
Look at Utd. Giggs and Scholes are being kept around well past their prime, as was Gary Neville. Purely because they bring something to the squad that is more precious than skill or pace.....they are winners!
Frank falls in to this category for us, and for that reason alone, he should stay.....and his wages shouldn't be touched, especially as he is still performing.

Usually agree with your point of view but you're way out there with this.
Frank on £150 per week is a complete insult to the players like Hazard and Mata on £60,000, who are contributing heaps more than Frank.' He's not being paid for his history, that's in the bank. He should be paid for his contribution, , for me, compared to Mata and Hazard $50,000 max. We're not a Charity yet.

  14. It was being reported that Lampard was prepared to take a £100,000 pay-cut, in order to stay at Chelsea.

Anyone know if that is true?

If it is, I cannot understand why CFC hasn't snapped his hand off with a new 2 year contract.

Again the focus is all on how much money everyone is being paid, I really couldnt give a crap how much Lampard, Mata and Hazard are all paid to be honest.
I would also argue about Mata and Hazard contributing "heaps more" than Frank. That really is only because they have had more minutes on the pitch, when Lamps has played this year, more often than not, he has been great.
There seems to be this mentality that as soon as player hits 31, they are s**t overnight. That just isnt the case any more like it was 25 years ago.
Players have so much healthier lifestyles now and can continue on well into their 30's, look at Drogba ffs. 33 and winning the golden boot.

Players dont wake up, smoke a 20 pack of cigarettes then go for a fry up before training like they did in the 80's.

hehe no, but what i mean is, players used to do that, so its no wonder that by the time they hit their 30's, they would get beer bellies and get out of breath.
Nowadays, sport science is awesome, players live completely differently, pretty much none of them smoke and they earn so much money and have such good healthcare and state of the art gyms.

If jimmy had taken care of himself he would have fulfilled his potential from Chelsea and won league titles and European cups. But his problems meant the big clubs would not touch him after his time in Italy
