After a successful loan spell with Werder Bremen he came back to Chelsea when Mourinho took over. Mourinho doesn't like young players in his team as they aren't the finished article so the lad got almost no game time and was sold in January. I'm sure there will be a few compelled to disagree with me but the facts speak for themselves. Mourinho doesn't trust young players.

Stupid reply. His age had nothing to do with it, it was his mentality. Jose had said whenever questioned on this that he couldn't promise De Bruyne games every week with Willian, Schurrle, Mata, Hazard and Oscar also playing. De Bruyne didn't like that and they agreed to let him leave. Mourinho also said if he had played De Bruyne every game, he wouldn't have been playing Hazard every game. You can't develope all these players at the same time.

That seems to be the stock excuse for Chelsea fans.

De Bruyne's agent, Patrick De Koster, explained, "We didn't receive any guarantees, but that's normal in a club like Chelsea. It's up to him [De Bruyne] to prove, like he did in the last 18 months."

His mentality seems to have been fine when he was on loan and since he left Chelsea. Maybe he just didn't like Chelsea.

Then why buy so many players in the same position? And frankly there have been times when Hazard has looked like he could do with a rest - he seems to carry a heavy burden. If you couldn't fit De Bruyne in, how will it work with Pedro?

They've freed up squad space by loaning £23million Cuadrado to Juve after 13 mostly substitute appearances for Chelsea.

Its a stock excuse because that is the case. A player does not call the shots over Jose. Jose said De Bruyne trained well, he is actually very complimentary of the player. They didnt see fully eye to eye and Jose let him move on.

A couple of ropey away trips there, geographically speaking.
But we should easily be able to top this group.
United always get the easy ****ing draw. I said to my mate yesterday, "what do you bet United get PSV, and avoid Barca, Bayern and Juve"
Every ****ing time.

Drawing PSV from Pot 1 was as good as we could have hoped for. Drawing Wolfsburg from Pot 4 was as bad as we could have hoped for. Obviously they will be weakened by the departure of KDB but I'm assuming he wasn't solely responsible for them finishing 2nd in the league last season. Any trip to Russia sucks. To be honest I'd rather had Barca and two **** teams!

You got lucky with Porto. One of the Spanish teams could have been tricky.

Those poor bastards from Benfica have a 10 hour flight. Lets be thankful for ur travel arrangements in our group.

He was in our starting XI for the opening game, think we played Hull and he then played in bits and pieces shortly after that. He looked bang average.

He then wanted more first team football but we couldn't guarantee it, same with Lukaku, so he left.

Mourinho said recently that he didn't warrant a first team place, I can't remember the exact words but the article was on sky sports.
