After a terrible performance at Stamford Bridge we have every opportunity to prove that we are the champions against our harsh London rival. Arsenal are second in the league and have a game away to PSG on Wednesday. We having a whole week rest which is an incentive to win this game. There is no question we have to win this game. Some people are advising Arsenal not to give us a 'guide of honour'. A very strong eleven have to play against Arsenal. Table : 1.Liverpool 82 points 2. I think Quansah and Elliott need games to actually qualify for a medal, or so I'm told not sure if that's true.
I think it's up to liverpool to decide who they give them to up to a point. Liverpool get a certain number of medals. Those who have played 5 games, automatically get one. The rest liverpool can distribute how they like.
Yeah I don’t think anyone apart from Chiesa doesn’t have the 5 appearances. Shove him on @ 85 mins if you must.
Chiesa does now after Sunday. Hopefully he plays his strongest side. I would like Slot to start only players that will be here next year for the last 3 games.
I care less about this game than I do about next season. I don't personally care if we win or lose this game, to me it's a friendly and a time for Slot to try out things he can't during the real season. Bonus being, it's not a friendly for Arsenal so it's a more realistic experiment. I think last week's 6 man replacement was too much. He needs to try just replacing a few at a time in the remaining games.
Games for Elliott and Quansah are essential imo they should have a bigger role to play next season. Chiesa needs to be tested so give him some time as well.
See arteta has been saying how Arsenal been unfortunate because lfc have won the title with less points than arsenal managed in last 2 years. 1 - try getting 92 and 97 points and not winning the title 2 - we currently have 82 points so can get 91 with 3 games left. Last 2 years Arsenal have managed to get 89 and 84 so we can still actually get higher than both those 2nd place totals anyway? The guy really does need to wind his neck in and stop trying to make excuses as to why after 6 years and over 1/2 a billion spent he still has only won an Fa cup in his first year with someone else’s team against a Chelsea team managed by Lampard.
We didn't need to get "more points" as it is we have points in excess. We quite likely would have got the three points against Chelsea had we set ourselves up to do so.
This is about performance and about showing discipline. It should be about earning a shirt and proving something. Anyone not in plans should be out. Anyone leaving should be out. Against it's a big test for slot as you are playing arsenal who will have a chip on their shoulder and frankly will be out either to prove a point or to try get fans off their back. We have the advantage of a weeks rest to play them. There's literally no excuse. Alisson Bradley konate vvd Robertson Gravenberch macallister Salah szoboszlai gakpo Diaz. Imo jota doesn't deserve a gsme after last week. He wouldn't put a foot in and wouldn't try. The others are well decided upon after thst show. Let's go. Draw it is good for me. Just don't ****ing lose the last games. Imo(and I'm entitled to it), if slot can't keep the in line cos they are on the beach then it not great. The players should know they can't get away with not bothering in any game for lfc. It's all about standards. It's what separated lfc from other clubs like spurs. We support but expect the players to try to win and not give up. Once they work then they get support. We've supported players and teams through all sorts of bad form but it's very very rare that players "give up" at lfc. On the beach is not acceptable.
Nothing would be sweeter than tonking arsenal and watching arteta explain that it was in fact fine margins
It’s a shame that we don’t have a few more ‘gimmie’ games left where could play a couple kids. Id love to see Ngumoha and Nyoni get some decent minutes in the last few games.
I hope the players can see where this gsme is headed. I think arteta has insulted us enough to make this personal now.
No point. Won't be used next year anyway. They have made thier moves to the club under the wrong regime
Based on what? The fact we moved on a load of 19/20 year olds who weren’t any where close to the first team? But different.
