The last three seasons 2010-11 QPR, Swansea, Norwich 2011-12 Reading, Southampton, West Ham 2012-13 Cardiff, Hull, Crysta Palace If Cardiff go down all three of the teams that went up as champions in the last three years have done worse than the 2nd place or play off team. Maybe if we go up in the play off's its not so bad after all.
Yes. Those three teams finished in opposite order the season after. But that was simply due to our club being a shambles!
Opposite order to what mate? The way the OP has them lined up or the way they actually finished in the Championship? NL's point is correct though. Everyone's saying we'd be slaughtered if we went up but every team that goes up through the Playoffs thinks that because they lost so many games in the Championship season. If we do manage to scrape up I think we'll stay up next year because I'm sure Tony will invest this Summer.
You where but i just didn't want to put Norwich 2nd as I hate them. Hopefully they be back down this year.
I'm glad someone has posted this as it's something I have also noticed. Maybe there is a psychological disadvantage to going up as champions being there are higher expectations to do well.
