Is everyone on this forum so gullible that they believe two slap-dash reports from cr@ppy unreliable newspapers?

I read the Mirror report on him and no where in it does it state he wants to leave or that he plans on leaving!

As for the article in The Sun, no where does it say 'I'm leaving/I'm going to hand in a transfer request etc...'

    NEWSPAPERS PRINT BULLSH!T TO SELL!

I THOUGHT MOST PEOPLE WOULD REALISE THAT...

If a Premier League club came in for one of us then you would have to admit it would be hard to turn down, so all he has done really is state the obvious!

He won't be leaving, that has been stated many times by Nigel Adkins and Nicola Cortese.

Who is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain? I've never heard of him. Does he play for Another-thread United?

I see where you are coming from, but your argument is steeped in naivety. He did an interview with the paper expressing his ambition to play in the top four, an ambition I'm sure is shared by every player. He is the only player we have with a realistic chance of doing this and his interview seemed to me like a flag to the teams who have already expressed interest. I wouldn't be so certain that he is staying with us, especially if he wants to follow his ambition and Arsenal who we know want him can submit and offer that matches Cortese's expectations.

Fair point but he will only be kicking himself by playing reserve football for the next 2 years...

Cortese supposedly won't budge and I fully respect that and hope he doesn't budge! Chamberlain is under contract and financially we don't need to sell <ok>

Wenger would never pay a huge amount of money on a teenager, or anyone English for that matter... <doh>

If it's true Cortese has set the price between 12-15 mil then its a brilliant situation to be in. Keep one of the best young talents in the country or spend any money gained on other quality additions.

I'm so bored of this saga, I couldn't care less if he stayed or left to be honest. If he stays, fair enough, we'll have a decent player but the saga of will he/wont he leave will continue forever more.. if he goes then we should get a decent fee for him (if Cortese holds out for one) and we'll still have quality players left in the squad. Therefore i'm nonplussed by it but very tired of the constant speculation!

And by the way, don't believe what you read in The Sun/Mirror, as I said before they are written by second rate journalists and dirty phone hackers!

Arsenal fan's dont want another youngster to sit on the bench. They want to win trophies, Alex wont help them do that, well not for another few years or so. I think there spending is over after signing that Gervinho kid. And no one else is willing to spend 12-15 million on Alex, because they have already made major signings this summer. The only club who haven't are Chelsea, and they are not intrested in him, or so were made to think.

I completely agree with you RLGB and thankyou for saving me from going on my own rant. The article said how much he enjoyed being at Saints, if one of the big clubs want him then they will have to stump up some cash, so what's changed? I still haven't seen the quote where he said he wanted to leave.

Wait a minute..it started at 10, rising to 12, now 15 is being quoted. The Sun will be quoting this tomorrow as another rumour. Where do they get these figures from?

**** it take the money! Getting bored of all this speculation now, if a club comes in and offers us the 12million & AOC wants to be a bench warmer for the next 2 years then let him. We could buy 2/3 quality championship/lower premiership players with that.

Unless you are a Man City, United, Madrid, Barca, Chelski you will always be a selling club... (but then every player has their price, Ronaldo - 80million for example)

If we get 12million i'd even throw Puncheon into the deal but then that might put potential buyer off!

I'm sorry, don't want to put a downer on your positive thinking, however I read the article in the Sun, at the top it had a picture of Shaun Custis (their journo) with chamberlain, so the interview obviously did take place.

However despite this, like people have said, he hasnt stated he wants to leave or is leaving. He does say that if the opportunity comes along then he would take it which is fair enough. This basically suggests that if we get an offer that cortese and adkins think is good business then he will be going.

Its catch 22, I really want him to stay as he would probably mean we would have one of the best champship midfields and he could go on to fetch more than 12 mil. However if cortese gave adkins the 12 million warchest then that could get 3-4 top quality players at this level. Chamberlain or 4 top players? what would you take..

I think I read on here that we fined chamberlain some wages as he did the interview, does any one no for sure if thats true?

The echo are saying the club has fined him which to me says he is not going anywhere soon whether he likes it or not.

Do you have trouble getting noticed RLGB? Is that why you use large fonts and bold everything?
